    First time outdoor grow questions

I always wait, I refuse to take bud until it’s ready. This year has been a helluva learning curve as you say…and I’m a 70 year old long time pot grower.

    First time outdoor grow questions

Yes, we are spraying the whole plant, buds and all lightly with the hp and water mix. Many people dunk and clean their buds in hp and water at time of harvest to clean the buds.

    First time outdoor grow questions

I’ve started using 1 part hydrogen peroxide 2 parts water to hit the aphids since we are well into flower. It seems pretty effective. Hope you have a great harvest.

I think it’s just the viscosity of the spray inhibits their moving about.

    First time outdoor grow questions

Those are aphids (not root aphids). Many approaches to knocking them down. You can spray a firm stream of water on them, once off, they can’t get back. Lots of insecticides, check local markets. Now starting flower, We are keeping them knocked down with a foliage spray of black strap...

    Biochar in super soil

If you don’t charge biochar it will absorb nutrients from the soil. You may have enough nutrients in your mix that it would not be an issue. I made a slurry mix with homemade biochar and nitrogen based fertilizer and water. It made the biochar easier to break down from chunks to pellet size...

    Does anyone ever scrog outside?

Great, clones not autos. Autos you don’t wanna touch. Recommend putting a wire cage around the plant. Then, super crop the top and pull all of your lateral stems through the wire cage. Super cropping the top promotes laterals to grow. Pulling stems through the cage keeps them lower and gives...

    Pot size for outdoor?

Cannabis will grow to fill its container. A 6 foot plant can be 3 feet wide, or it can be 8 feet wide, all depending on pot size. I was going to recommend 100 gallon or larger for outside.

    Drying at 60/60

Sounds like it might be time for the next step...slow curing the bud. Nicely trimmed and placed in mason jars, checked for moisture and burped daily, etc.

    Help. Early onset of flowering.

I completely agree that the plants were fooled into flowering as you described above. The weird 1 or 3 point leaves are a dead giveaway. I’ve had plants do this also. Jus let them go. They may stall for a while, but will wind up giving up a nice harvest. By the time it’s trimmed the weird...

What will shade do to my grow?

I think you were right in thinking the light from the street light kept her from flowering. Shade might effect size and quality but won't prevent her from flowering.

Basic fertilizers needed before start? 50 year old garden - Never fertilized

I see nothing wrong with your plan on adding compost and chicken or steer manure. You can determine the amount of sand, silt, clay and compost by a simple test with a mason jar and water. Instructions easy to find on google. Sounds like a very nice orchard garden etc. spot. Enjoy!
