That sounds good to me, the hps cant get thru a few leaves so a thin mat should be enough to keep it dark and moist for more root area. Thank you.

I usually run straight rockwool and by the time roots come out of the blocks there is enough shade that they grow everywhere in my tray. However I want to put a mat in the tray and see if this results in better root growth. I will use 4x4 paragro blocks and wonder what thickness would work well?

Ah I run 2 1Ks, I used to run 3 600s too. its a nice setup, lights run cooler and you can get the light closer. I like the 1ks ability to penetrate deeper and think its better for xxxl hoods. Running in soil?

Yea always an issue, I grow in a tent which kind of limits my height, 5X10X7 but I like to run hydro which raises my plants with the res and trays. Did you grow it from seed or cutting?

Not sure about blowing out the filter but the duct thru the lights goes outside > lights > ceiling so no air needs to be filtered form it. But I only have one hole going into the ceiling, I have a big splitter from home depot, kind of a Y shape. Wondering if the fans both blowing into this one...

Im running one 8" fan to cool two 1000w lights and one to filter, will there be any problem using a splitter duct into the same outlet in the ceiling?
