For now I spend enough money just with the cobs and tools! But I will indeed (after some time) upgrade them to cover a large surface more efficient.

    mars 2 - to cob

Hi sir. I open mine and tested myself. Mars 2 900W 5w chips. 9 drivers inside: Voltage max 112v. Amperage max 0.71Amp 4 fans with labels 12V 0.3 amp, but tested and work at 0.2amp. The drivers are 110v 0.7amp capable, so 4 12v fans (12x4=48v) is perfectly possible. I just saw your...

IF you are new to LED and want help choosing what to buy, POST HERE!

Yes, you can mix it! I am also converting mine and will probably use Citizen CLU048-1212 , they are cheaper (if you found them) than Cree's. If not can also look for CLU048-1812 (if your driver is like mine 50v-112v)

Cheap and Cheerful DIY using Citizen cobs

I saw conversions from a few different models, but none for the marsII 900W 5w chips. Growmau5 (youtuber) was the one that inspire me. I am in the UK, and the idea it was to do it asap, as I need the light back on place. That's mainly why I am looking at Europe sellers (for the fast...

Cheap and Cheerful DIY using Citizen cobs

Yes, I did! There is not much information out there regarding the interior of those lights... But I did found a few, and they mount different ones deppending on the age and power of the model. The drivers are naked!!! no info what so ever, that's why I had to test myself with the multimeter...

Cheap and Cheerful DIY using Citizen cobs

So... in the case of the Citizen will you go just 1 cob x driver? as the 1812 require 52v. and mine are ruffly 110v? don't you want to keep a safe 10% tollerance? specially with this dodgy drivers? I am affraid if I plug 2 1812 in a single driver won't light up! I am not an expert, just...

Cheap and Cheerful DIY using Citizen cobs

Hi sir! Very well explain, and that is what I was looking for! My grow it is just for a personal use and my main concern is an even spread light through all my canopy and good penetration. Drivers are crap, probably 65% efficient but for now I will keep it,I can allways replace it later on...

Help choosing cob's for a converted marsII 900W

The drivers are generic, they are inside a black plastic box and don't have any specs or labels on it, I tested myself and the results are 112V and 0.7 amp. I recon theya are 50V-110V 0.71Amp drivers. Vero 29 is one of my options ,yes!

Cheap and Cheerful DIY using Citizen cobs

Thanks for your answer! I didn't know of those strips, I will also take a look at them, but it seems a really good option! I will see If I found them in Europe. If so witch ones go for? the 3000K is it just cri70 ?no cri 80 or 90? Also it did not come with switches but I was planning to add or...
