Where Can I Find Pin Fin Heatsink for 50w CXB3590s? They're sold out every where.

I still have a box of 1800 active heatsinks (incl. Fan) which I bought in wholesale. I will sell for $2 each, ex shipping. Fyi they work perfectly with cob's driven at 50w.

Looking for fellow AEROFLO users to share experiences

I have a hydro tent with 2x Aeroflo 20 (so 40 plant sites). I have been growing with 2x 1000 Gavita's, but I have a DIY COB light now to replace both. The COB led consists of 40 cobs (1 cob above every plant site), running at 50w each, so a total of 2000 cob watt. All people I know grow on...

Is this overkill or best possible?

Sounds good. Do some more research before you order stuff tho, check out Growmau5 @ youtube if you havent done already.

Is this overkill or best possible?

There's more brands of cobs out there which perform (near) equal to the cxa/cxb's but are much cheaper. Dont stare too much at specs on paper, but do some research and check real world results. Citizen has some pretty great cobs, also Bridgelux seems a pretty awesome brand with the Vero's, and...

Does this very cheap LED unit (including driver) interest you?

there is no link to order as they are not for sale in small quantity and only business to business. It's a local factory and I picked the 2 of them up in person. The guy who made this possible for me said he can sell the strips including drivers to me, but wont arrange shipping on anything less...

I'm about to buy 20 of these heatsinks for the 20 cob fixture, or shouldn't I?

Thanks for your reply! Heat is not my concern as I'm replacing 2x 1000W Gavitas. Besides, I'm running these 1212's low at only 50w each. Soldering the chip interests me because it seems the most efficient way of heat transfer into the heatsink.

I'm about to buy 20 of these heatsinks for the 20 cob fixture, or shouldn't I?

I understand your concern, but then again: 40 cob's, which will need 40 heatsinks will cost me either: 40 x $20 passive + shipping VS. 40x $1.50 active The price difference is so great between these 2, that a burned out chip caused by a failing fan is easily covered by the savings on...

I'm about to buy 20 of these heatsinks for the 20 cob fixture, or shouldn't I?

yes, thermal glue / adhesive / epoxy seems quite common in these applications.

Does this very cheap LED unit (including driver) interest you?

in my opinion thats like comparing apple's to oranges. 1st of all, the $9-$11 is including driver. 2nd of all, a COB is just 1 point which emits light into a certain footprint. This strip will cover a bigger area, and is more suitable for other stuff like vegging clones, and as side lights...

    Ph metres??

milwaukee is good blue lab is good hanna is good there's alot more brand and even better (more functions, more precise and reliable) ones, but it's not worth the price difference imo. personally I use 2 CHEAP china EC/PH Meters and 2 hanna meters. I use buffer solution pretty often on the...

I'm about to buy 20 of these heatsinks for the 20 cob fixture, or shouldn't I?

The mounting area is 2.8cm, which I checked, will fit my Citizen 1212 cob's. Now, mass, thats another story. These units weigh around 190 grams (avg weight from different sites), but seem to be able to cool CPU's without too many issues. I think the design for these is to dissipate heat fast...

I'm about to buy 20 of these heatsinks for the 20 cob fixture, or shouldn't I?

I understand your logic, but then again.. in my situation I only run my cobs at 1400a/50w so I don't need the best coolers. Besides, a pin heatsink is like atleast $15-$20 each, while the heatsinks which I mentioned in the opening post are only $1.50 each including fan

Water Cooled CLU58-1825 high power build.

right. I can understand that the most efficient way is to put the radiator outside of the grow room, in a cooler area. Also a bigger reserve tank for the coolant would make a big difference I guess.
