    pH Nutrient Uptake Chart Confusion

5.8 and 66F will not let you down. A good thing about controlling pH and reservoir temps is it streamlines plant trouble shooting when you know those two variables are fixed (say, if you are trying to dial in nutrient levels or ratios throughout flower for a strain that is new to you). pH Nutrient Uptake Chart Confusion

I believe it is fairly common to target 5.8, or 5.5 to 5.8 often considered perfect, and 5.3-6.0 considered very acceptable as well. Realistically you won't have any problems if you can control between 5.3 to 6.0 (or even slightly over). Google "pH hydroponics 5.8", plenty of info from seedbanks...

    pH Nutrient Uptake Chart Confusion

If you have to pick a value to lock in - aim for 5.8... If you can allow a drift ( not sure what the limitations of your equipment are), dose til 5.5 and let it drift to 6.0, repeat

    Nutrients Mixer

Would work well too, I don't have any problems with heat generated by the submersible, water temps sits nicely below (or at) 60F. I'm using a laughably small pump to keep the reservoir agitated . Any electrically driven motor will impart heat into the tank, except maybe those fancy split circ...

    Nutrients Mixer

Fair warning though -- if you leave a pump running in the reservoir indefintely, it will generate some heat (although very minor when sized correctly). So if you want to leave it on permanently, make sure the pump is appropriately sized for the volume of your rez... ie don't put a 1100 gph...

    Nutrients Mixer

put a submersible pond pump in the reservoir and run it when you are mixing, and you can leave it running to prevent settle out while the mix sits

Stealthy Purple Pineberry Scrog DWC-LED grow

Snapped a couple pictures - The smaller plant on the right.. her stretch was managable, albeit slightly taller than expected -- ...which was only really a problem because the plant on the left is twice the size of the plant on the right. Balancing the nute levels has been a pain, as they seem...

Stealthy Purple Pineberry Scrog DWC-LED grow

Things.... Escalated haha. Two very different stretch results from the plants, to the point where I will have diminished yields due to proximity to the light and I'm sure one will have some light bleaching soon, though stretch is 93%(?? ..Sure) done. I'll put up some pictures tomorrow, the...

    The Little Things

pH and PPM meter (look for an option to display EC as well as ppm, helps if you are looking at an off brand meter) are necessary for DWC. You will want a submersible thermometer to monitor reservoir temps. What grow media are you using? Hydroton? Do you have your timers all set for flower...

Could use a second opinion of Diagnosis

Cautiously optimistic that dialing back the K and bumping the cal/mag/iron helped. New growth is much more inline with normal, but still room for improvement. I noticed a little nute burn here and there on the tips, nothing major but need to keep an eye on it and at the back of my mind when it...

I will be sure to grab a picture tonight. As the reservior volume is relatively small for 2 plants (5.5 gallons), I have to top off every two days, with the top offs, I've been pushing the 2-2-3 with cal/mag (contains iron).

Thanks for the feedback, I definitely will make slow adjustments, if I have learned one thing with these plants it's patience and not over reacting/ over correcting is key. The fan leaves are more predominately yellow today, leaves that were completely green previously

You blinded me with science, first time I have seen that chart. So was a reduction to a more balanced npk ratio the right move, in your best estimation

Hey - yes the timer works well, actually just flipped off for the night, day temp are 72-75, night temps likely high 60s, about 65-67, my house is controlled to 65 f at night by my Nest. Besides the three part I have cal mag in small doses or as needed, hygrozyme and voodoo juice (bennies)

I read that too - thanks for the link, do you think it can be an iron def caused by or compounded with a K toxicity? Excess K can directly cause iron deficiencies. My Micro and my Cal-mag both have iron, as well as my tap water.

I'm with ya, but there are plenty of pistils on different bud sites (sites that were off of one of the 4 main branches) it just so happens the sites that have the most yellowing don't have obvious pistils in the photos.

They are starting out yellow, but some of the fan leaves that were small when I first noticed the issue (and I mean like just emerged small) are showing slight base yellowing too

Thanks for the feedback mikey. I thought about nitrogen deficiency too. I may be way off base here, but from what I could find, Nitrogen Deficiency affects the lower leaves first with the yellowing. The lower growth looks nice and healthy though, other than the occasional fan leaf that I tucked...

Also worth noting the pH and EC have been constant, with only water level changes. I have a pH and EC probe submerged in the rez and check several times during the photo-period. The ratio was changed to 3-3-4 Wednesday night, difficult to see what the new growth is doing at the moment
