    DWC water temperature vs DO

Here's the best one I had on disk. This study found that there was a Goldilocks zone for DO: too little = problems, and too much DO also = problems such as brown roots. Check it out...

    DWC water temperature vs DO

I spent 2 hours looking on Google scholar, can't find. But it is well established that over agitation of water around roots creates issues. I think it's because the roots get access to too many nutes and suck up up DO faster than it can be replace, am not 100% sure tho.

    Nute burn?

Claw leaf: Too much nitrate, reduce dosage by 50%. Leaf cupping: Watch temps and RH

    Why the change?

I've always put that down to maturity, revegging, or some kind of confusion. But it's nothing to be too worried about

    Co2

-Use a more efficient led: for instance, samsung diodes @4000K+ run ice cold at full power. Plants love heat, im battling to keep temps UP and I live in a Mediterranean climate. -If airtemps are hot, keep leaf temps down by not using IR diodes or HID lamps. Leaf temps need to be in their lower...

    DWC water temperature vs DO

DO solubility vs water temps is misleading. Plant roots will simply metablolise and burn oxygen MUCH faster at 25C than at 16C. That's one of the biggest reasons why you need to chill roots in all water-culture imo. After all there is only a 1.7ppm DO dip between 25C and 16C, that's really not...

Samsung strip PCB's: a review after 3 years of rough use...

No it is FR4 fibreglass, like less than 1mm thin. I used "contact glue" to stick em to aluminum tread plate, and some fell off and bent in the middle under their own weight. Ya. Digikey also shipped mine so badly in 2017 that some bent along the way too.

    GrowRoom Automation Software

Here's my 2c: CODING has become a solid passion up there with hydroponics and cultivation for me. Same level of trial, error, learn, succeed as the growing itself is. Same reward imo. Dont be scared! Grow rooms and automation lend themselves together well, and code it just a set of instructions...

Samsung strip PCB's: a review after 3 years of rough use...

I have been using Samsung strips with the lm561 diode I think, for 3 years now. Soldering: very good, dropped fixtures and diodes still attached lol PCB: is CRAP. Slight bend and half the diodes dont work any more... Light: very powerful, had to run on 50-60% because plants were struggling...

Automating a Grow Room / Rooms

Yeah I had libraries of every device and called an object everytime I needed a new fan or light or whatever. But my arduino was running out of memory, just talking to spi & i2c sensors, print functions, let alone all that control code for each device class, it all took up like 90% memory. Why I...

Automating a Grow Room / Rooms

I'm tryng to work out if having ONE giant controller that does everything is better or have seperate modules that do say "air management" and have another module that does say the hydroponics. It seems that former creates a huge box with an angry mess of wiring between relays, buses, uc, sensors...

Is DWC appropriate for hot weather? Will F & D be better

Doing perlite vermiculite mix in pots for moms and gh grows. It is easier in a way. Roots stay white white but growth not as fast as dwc even with brownish roots

Is DWC appropriate for hot weather? Will F & D be better

Hi guys, old school R/DWC grower here who's never flowered in flood and drain. Is it better than DWC under summer circumstances? My DWC grow exploding but roots are slightly brown. Not much of a problem then, but I can't help but wonder if F & D in hydroton will improve my yields in summer...

Automating a Grow Room / Rooms

I thinks its because the he's more focused on managing the control system than the plants. Well that's my issue at least so I rate he's got the same. Also plants still need a human eye, even the automation needs a human eye. Otherwise you in the realm of AI and that's still prob no where as...

Automating a Grow Room / Rooms

I am trying to automate my grow. Just becomes such a mess of wires and expensive sensors. Tho it's fun.

Nutrient uptake rates for NPKCaMgS--a nice graph

My plants seem to like 80% Ca-N ratio best, I find myself hovering around 40-50ppm of Ca. Whether more or less is better still eludes me. I saw on one of the millions of nute threads that K:Ca:Mg should always be supplied at a 3:2:1 ratio in terms of ppm. He was talking in the context of coco...

DTW with small pea-sized hydroton ONLY?

Thinking about a DTW system where I can reuse the media. Hydroton is preferred here and I can reuse it. Anyone tried this, or thinks it may work or not? OR just flood and recycle the nute?
