Plants too big ! Too little too late ??

I took the advice I read above guys. I super cropped the main culprit. I've strung her up to the ventilation and lights that I raised up as suggested, just in case she puts on weight and ends up kinking over too much. I've left the other two second largest plants as they are for now...

Plants too big ! Too little too late ??

I left my critical mass to grow out a little more than I should have done. They're two and a half weeks into flower now and as you can see they're almost touching the lamps in this picture. They're now officially touching the lamps. I've tied them down with string as a result to encourage the...

To lollipop, or not to lollipop...

    I'm in the process of selecting a mother out of 8 Dinafem Critical + 2.0 Wilma (larger), 400w mh / 600w ds / Hyrdoton / 11L / Canna Nutes / pH 5.7 - pH6.3 / 40% RH / 23C (72F) on and 17C (62.6F) off It's my first grow and it's going seamlessly, I even got my cuttings to root first time. I...

Two types of leaf damage... are they linked ?

I reckon that's probably the case, it's on a few other leaves actually, some nearer the top which is what made me mention it  I ran into an issue with temperatures after looking at overnight minimums. The exhaust and filter run overnight, that draws in cold air passively through the...

Two types of leaf damage... are they linked ?

Ah that's handy, in the event I have to play detective. I've increased pH to 6.0 and in the future will let it ride from 5.8 to 6.3 and see what happens. They've grown fast so likely the low pH didn't allow them to take up as much calcium as they wanted... Cheers K

Two types of leaf damage... are they linked ?

I'm hoping you guys might be able to help with this one. I bought some Canna CalMag today and before adding it to the tanks want to be sure. The directions on the website for the CalMag state this : Soft water has an EC of below 0.4, by raising it with Canna Calmag Agent all Canna products can...

Two types of leaf damage... are they linked ?

They're on Canna Aqua nutes, they've had their last feed of Rhizotonic for their roots now they're in flower, but they'll continue to get CannaZYME to keep the roots in good condition. I could certainly let it drift higher, as I am aware that calcium is absorbed at higher pH levels, wouldn't 6.3...

Two types of leaf damage... are they linked ?

Ah... as for watering, 2.5 gallon buckets at a time into the reservoir, there might be some slight splashing occurring  That'll be 12ml per 10L for over here in the UK in that case, they've just come out of veg actually and are in the first week of their flowering light, though still on...

Two types of leaf damage... are they linked ?

Yep, this is what I don't understand, there should be enough in the water, it doesn't have an RO filter on it etc...

Two types of leaf damage... are they linked ?

Yup, it's spot on both pH 4.0 and pH 7.0 when tested in calibration fluids, ironically it is a $5 pH tester and it was the $45 Essentials tester I recently bought that was throwing up incorrect values after calibration. The leaf damage does look extremely similar to the images results on the...

Two types of leaf damage... are they linked ?

I have surface (canopy) temperatures of 24C/25C (+3C from ambient, it's really well ventilated). The feed is the Canna Aqua range, they're on the first week of veg feed in flower cycle at 1.8EC (less 0.5EC of tap water to give 1.3EC). I've just raised the lights another 5 inches, I agree about...

Two types of leaf damage... are they linked ?

I've had the pH ranging from 5.4 to 6.0 so that as it drifts up, the spectrum of nutrients can be taken up. I don't remember an instance where I have taken a lower measurement in all honesty. Temperatures are a constant 23C, previously went up to 25C. There are three fans for circulation, an...

Two types of leaf damage... are they linked ?

Just as the title states, I have noticed two types of damage occurring on my leaves, and wondered whether they could be linked. Pretty sure this is leaf minors, little shits... I know that they're protected by the membrane of the leave so spraying them is not that effective. They have 7...

Bent plants, reservoir slime and squashed roots...

I liked the idea of being able to use cannaZYME throughout the run and then easily clean off the medium of roots afterwards; it's not really the cost of having to get more, but the stealthy way I don't have to go out and get more, as well as, hopefully having to clean them less, though the...

Bent plants, reservoir slime and squashed roots...

I've had this same discussion, it just seems so counter intuitive to produce them in black; even if they were use outdoors the same issue would likely occur. I checked the temperatures a while ago and they were resting at a cool 18.5C / 65F - I reckon I will try and create something (I watched...

Bent plants, reservoir slime and squashed roots...

Ah - the dump and refill I normally practice, this is the first run but I have read enough to consider it best practice; not sure how some people assert they can go through the entire run without changing up the reservoir and just adding on top. Have you used CannaZYME before and definitely...

Bent plants, reservoir slime and squashed roots...

Yep, it's the root condition that reassured me. I'll chill out and write one of the three 3000 word assignments I have to take my mind off it :wall:

Bent plants, reservoir slime and squashed roots...

Yep, it's the first run with this setup up. I know that the frozen bottles are a great way to reduce tank temperatures, but if I can get the AC (saves me buying a chiller), to do the same job through maintaining 23C ambient, and 20C tank temps, then that automating of the system would be...

Bent plants, reservoir slime and squashed roots...

I hope it is, I try and keep everything as sterile as possible, so this is a bit of a kick in the nuts ! I'll be scrogging them on the next run, very much kept vanilla (give or take a prune or two) whilst I decide on a mother. I have heard of Hydroguard, would I be able to use that inconjuction...
