Yeah awkward and tiny space but it's for a personal use grow.... Any tips or feedback would be appreciated as this will be my first grow attempt... It in the back of my '67 Mini Winnebago 8'x14' pull behind

Thanks

Oh yeah it could be done. Not sure vertical is the way to go with only 4'10'' of head room however. but a couple of 400w hids 3-4 plants scrog with a couple of cool tubes a 6" can fan and a filter. Id do it in either 5g dwc or 7gallon soil.

Ok well this is a stealthy type and lower budget kind of grow what would be good for low profile needs light wise ... I looked into led s but wow pricey!!! I've heard of using cfls but have not heard if it works well for quality or quantity

Better off looking for an hid.. Cfls work.. Keep em close!
best of luck
I'd love an hid as I'd like to do it right but I don't got a lot for spending... I wish I could find one for $200...but I may start with cfls and try to scrape up more $$ ... Cfls ... How many ... I did find some 100w equivalent bulbs , distance from plants and soil temp are concerns as well since it's cold in my state and I'm in a travel trailer

That's a tough space. You can do something in there, but it may not be much at all. How are you going to ventilate the space? Can you put a 6" vent hole in one of the 1.5' wide walls or out the top? If you can't do that it's going to be very difficult to fit any hid in there. When you want to save every last inch in the room for plants like this, you will want to consider placing the fan outside the room pushing into the filter, instead of having them both in the room pulling air out. Just make sure you use a dust pre-filter before the carbon filter.

The other big problem is that 4'10" x 1'6" is not at all a footprint that an hid is going to cover well. Two could, but you are not fitting two hid's in there unless it's 2x250w and it sounds like that is out of your budget.

One option is to put a 400w bare bulb right in the middle vertically and just grow one nice size plant on each side of it. That's probably your best bet, if you can cool it. Put a 6" vent hole right above the bulb and the fan above it, outside the space, pushing through the filter and it'll work as long as it's not like 80°+ in the camper. You'll only need 2-4 weeks at most in there vegging before flipping and you'll get 8 ounces a harvest easily, 14+ if you're good.

The other option I would recommend are 55w PL-L fluorescent lights. A website called AH Supply sells nice kits with reflectors or now you can find 2x55w and 4x55w fixtures for cheaper on hydro sites. With that space I'd recommend the kits as you can fit more light in. The 4x55's are 2'x2' I believe, so those don't work, you'd only get 220w total. But with the kits you can fit 3 across and get 330w across the top. Make a simple frame out of 1x2's and put some eye hooks in it to raise and lower it with ratchet hangers. You can run three 55w bulbs on a single ballast, too, so you save a bit with kits using 2 ballasts for 6 PL-L bulbs.

HID's kill flouro's all day long but cooling 400w in that space is going to be rough. You need a decently cool ambient temperature/intake air for that to work. In a non-air conditioned winny, not happening in the summer.

Veg in there for a month then flip and get 8-14 ounces every 3 months easy.

I was planning on running my vent out through old chimney from furnace and intake through old drain vent for plumbing as I use H20 in culligan jugs I've seen decent results from cfls but I'm confuse as to actual wattage and number of bulbs and I'm clueless for nutes ... I'm in a prohibition state and don't know how it would work ordering anything grow related in this land of 10000 lakes and even more stupid laws

Sincerely
The guy in the winny

I think a bare vertical 400w in the middle with one plant on each side is a good way to go. If you want to do soil put them in the green bottom Superoots Air-Pots. Put a small fan on the floor under the bulb pointing straight up. The filter and fan could go inside along the top, and then out your chimney if needed. It'll cut a bit off the height but get a slim filter. I recommend Phresh filters. Their Hyper fan is also good, small, and has a really nice speed controller.

For nutes, I've used Pure Blend Pro's soil line with good success. I follow their feed sheet but at 33-66% strength. The Lucas method using General Hydroponics Flora micro and bloom should be fine too. Keep it simple, follow a proven mix and just adjust how strong you make it to respond to your plants's needs.

The land of 10,000 lakes is a prohibition state, but they are one of the best. Anything under 42.5 grams is a simple ticket (but if it's in a car keep it in the trunk or it can be a DUI). For felony amounts, you'd have to have an enormous grow to get higher than the lowest felony the state has. The only less serious felony than growing dozens of pot plants is selling fake drugs. More rural areas may be a bit harsher but more populated areas don't care a whole lot about it. State law dictates the severity and maximum punishment (serve 8 months, generally a first time offender would expect next to no time served and a low bail on arrest). Don't tell anyone. Land of 10,000 snitches.

Yes, it can be done. Forgive the poor quality, but this is a picture of an old Polaroid. Note pink ruler behind plant for scale. 35 watt HPS in a modified speaker box. Less than 1 square foot and 3 cubic feet volume.

As for tips, ventilation is key, and it will be your limiting factor for your HID light. As previously mentioned, SCROG it and you'll be golden.

Well I am also in the same boat down in the Show Me state. Amazon, 2 day shipping. Gift wrap anything you dont want the neighbors to see. Prepaid debit card from walmart if you're wanting super stealth. The main thing, is to never EVER tell a soul. Come to the forum to gush and show your shit off, but never EVER tell a soul.

lol sorry couldnt help myself. Biggest thing is we have dimmable ballasts now. go big and plan to dim if you need to. Definitely a few more factors to take into account. Summers in that thing would be out.

Few ways to skin this cat

Could do a 6 bulb T5. 324 watts. Scrog it hard core. Run Full bloom lights. Dont even worry about veg lights. I did this with 4 plants under a 8 bulb for a long time. Grew WWxBB for a long time and almost hit a gr/w a few times. It's just time consuming to get the plants perfectly uniform before you flip. And you want a tight screen. the more tops you have the more you will produce. Personally i think 2 400 watts lights is the right buy Dialed down to 200watts. gives you a little grow room in your equipment should you decide to make a little more room. could move up to a 3x6 space and still have good light for it.

Could even do a no till bed, run 12/12 from seed sog style.
Could do a vert barebulb with em at 200 watts. 12" diameter screens. One plant that wraps around the screen entirely. 5 gal dirt. Air exchange would have to be on point.

Point two lol I will start a post once I have finished my build thank you for the help ... Further input or shared stories welcome... Also I have a large interest in edibles so recipes would be very appreciated :)
