splix...

you can grow a GOOD plant using 3 - 43 watt CFLs..
and a GREAT plant using 6 - 43 CFL lights

it will be key to flower early and have lights on the side...
those lights can not maintain a BIG plant but they can produce some QUALITY BUDS!!

i have at least 12 23w cfls ? How many would you recommend with a oscillating fan to cool it down even though little heat is created keeping a temp about 70 degrees? Would this be a good combination?:peace:

yup that could work well. temp wise I am running between 65 (lights off) to 75-77(lights on) on 12/12 schedule. 12 bulbs is prolly more than enough? do you have a limitation in height? just one plant will prolly work out pretty well. the fan is good to strengthen the stems too.

Nope i got a 6 by 2 closet that is about 9 feet high. Pretty big closet i guess. I had a 24/0 but then switched to 18/6 about three weeks later. I heard that this wouldnt really affect the plants too much and the dark cycle will encourage plant growth? Either then that i think im good?

Foil will not get hot unless u have a heat lamp or a really hot bulb like a 250w+ hps would..
And you dont use the shiney side, use the dull (blurry) side
..and u might want 2 buy a cheap fan to put in there..

I have the soil up in my room also because i cant find anything locally to use instead. But if you use it like smoke2live420 said you should be fine. If the coset is painted flat white on the inside, than you should not need anything else.

I think Im getting it so far? Would it be early to start flowering a 24 day old plant? Sog method for one plant then bring it back to revegging? Can cloning be done after? Kinda strange harvesting one plant but my first grow so i'm liking all the experience:mrgreen:

Cardboard is great to use, the lights do not create a fire hazard, CFLs do not get hot enough to catch even paper on fire. Hotglue works really well to glue cardboard together, and it holds strong, if you need it. I made a hood with a vanity light strip with 5 sockets, out of some cardboard, hotglue, and duct tape, plus the vanity strip I wired myself. I lined the inside with mylar [shiny reflective wrapping paper, on the silver side], it works extremely well, look at my gallery towards the newest pictures to see it.

I did have 12 cfls running but the temperature was almost 100, so I cut it down to 2 40 watt cfls and 2 26 watt, and the temperature goes between 77-83 degrees, it seems to be enough light for 3 plants, no streching or anything.
