I remember reading somewhere that HC was estimating the number of Canadians joing the mmj program would reach 500000 by 2024 or something like that....at this rate will hit that number in a couple years.

Soooo who are these doctors that arew signing 10K prescriptions per month and why can't they sign to let people grow their own? What's the size of the prescriptions and how often do these people buy? Do they count people leaving on LP for another as a new sign up?

There's a bunch of these weed prescription/sales companies popping up. They supply the doctor and then they sell you the weed. Needless to say, the doctors have a good motive to issue the scrips, they're getting paid. Not quite as bad as in Cali yet, where you can pretty much get a scrip for just saying you feel anxiety, which every human does quite often. But what happens after July 2018 (supposedly)? The doctors get cut out the deal then. Bet the strict ones will be wishing they cashed in on it while they still could.

The doctors want nothing to do with it. When the guidelines came down it was suggested that there be two systems, medical and recreational. Th province would handle the rec and the doctors the medical. The doctors want one system, rec, controlled by the province. It's a massive headache for them.

Oh right, because they only make probably $75 off a mm scrip whereas they make nice hefty kickbacks from the makers of Oxycontin etc. Forgot about that. Docs must hate mm as much as the pharma corps they serve. Actually it will be good for those in medical need to be able to avoid being around arrogant docs. Nobody wants to be around those jackasses any length of time.

it's probably 12k a month now which means with the 4 month wait there are around 180k or so who have doc signed acmpr papers, yet only 3400 have received permission to grow.

It doesn't matter about the regulations. We've already seen that the courts will side with those in medical need who grow their own medicine. What are they gonna do, lock up a bunch of sick people and fund their treatment in jail? Very generous of them, because no free person could possibly afford to pay the pharma companies themselves. Just screw the Govt. They've clearly shown that they're idiots so just fuck em. Ignore their self serving regs and stop supporting their corporate buddies like Canopy, who apparently managed to be valued at over a billion. Now why would that be? Do you know how much weed they'd have to sell to make that in profit? More than the Mexico and Colombia combined, that's how much.

Say they charged $10 a gram, they'd have to sell 100,000,000 grams if it was pure profit, which it's not so they'd have to sell probably at least twice that. There's only 30 million people in Canada and they aren't all sick or even rec users. Let's just say they might make a profit by 2050. If they were smart they'd just sell the company right now while its value is vastly inflated. They plan to make most of their money from exports, from what I can gather. So Canada expects to become a world source for weed. Do you think other nations are just going to stand by and let that happen? Canada ain't exactly a big player as nations go. The entire economy is based on exports and if they get sanctioned that could be a problem. Some companies may make money from weed but a bunch of other companies may very well pay for that profit out of their own. There would be no net gain for Canada, just those weed companies.

CGG was bleeding liabilities to the tune of $29M the quarter ending Dec/31/16, and a total liability exposure of $280M (including stock compensation) for the year. Account receivable amounted to just $2.5M, and accounts payable were just over $12M for the same quarter...lol!
Simple math will tell you...this is not a sustainable biz. It will take decades for this LP to become profitable, if ever...I doubt investors will hang on that long.

typical pump and dump scheme. There may be a market for them in industrial cannabis for making products derived from cannabis. They will never make it by trying to sell to cannabis smokers.

people are being driven to mmj by doctors suddenly cutting off all the narcotics from being prescribed
I have been offered mmj about 7 times since I joined a pain clinic...their sole goal is to somehow get everyone off pharma narcotics,
doesn't matter if that's what really works for a chronic pain patient....Oxy fentanyl.etc are all quickly becoming the devil...a new evil
that they must stamp out.
