. . . . . . . And just for fun, I took 10 mystery bagseeds and threw em in my garden. I now have 5 baby plants out there, 4 of which are in excellent health. I also took another 10 of a different kind of mystery bag seed and threw a couple in each of 5 makeshift cups (w/ drainage holes) I made, and 7 of those sprouted.

I had no clue that many would sprout but I'm glad they did. It'll be cool to see how they turn out.

I found them under the seat in my friends car. 2 bags with 10 seeds each labeled "reg. 1" and "reg. 2". My buddy told me to keep em and here they are now. These are the reg 2 that I put in cups (yes I'll separate the ones with two seedlings shortly. That was not supposed to happen lol)

The "reg 1" got put out in the garden to grow up facing the elements are doing just as well as the indoor cup-goers by the looks of it. I'll post pics of those when it's light out.

I know it's pretty late in the season for seedlings to be sprouting but it's some free bag seed so hey why not. . . . . .

Thanks! :bigjoint:
I did two kinds of bag seeds last year. But I did smoke the pot they came out of, so I kind of knew what range they would be in. I called them BST1 and BST2. {bag seed testers} Made some pretty good bud, and made some crosses with them. This year I have some of those crosses going, as well as a new BST, SV2, which was a generic diesel. I got 7 sprouts out of the 8 seeds I put in soil on them.

And I'm starting late so the plants will be smaller, and take less water through the hot summer months. But it's been rainy the last couple weeks. I kind of wish mine were waist high right now.

Here are a couple of Peach {BST2 (Big & Stinky) X BST2 FP3} in my JP patch. I put them both in one hole, but leaned them in opposite directions. Need to do it again, but I was in a rush today.

I transplanted a Hurricane Head {BST2 (Big & Stinky) X BST1 FP} into the JP patch this morning. It was topped by grasshoppers a couple of weeks ago.

The Budder OG and Double Dream were put in the ground later so they're a bit smaller.

The Banana Lemon Sherbet is slowly re-vegging. It will be interesting to see how this one turns out.

I didn't have the time to take care of all the baby bagseed plants I started so I let them be Darwin dope and these 4 are the survivors:

This one has been the biggest and healthiest from the beginning. Hoping it's a female. Kind of looks like a sativa from those skinny leaves.

Found this little fellow growing by the fence

These two both looked like goners a week ago and have made impressive comebacks.

Thats all for now but will post again soon.

So they're all doing well... looking about the same just bigger.

However this bagseed plant in particular has caught my eye. It's growing significantly faster than the other few bagseeds that survived. Its also got some super skinny leaves. So is this always a sure sign of a sativa? Or can an indica look like this?

It's also got this weird mutation going on with a couple of the bigger leaves where the bottom of the leaves are curved. Pretty sure I saw the same mutation happen in someone else's grow journal a couple years ago

So to those reading this, what strains have you grown that have similar skinny leaves?

The blue dream I have has similar leaves so maybe it comes from Haze?

Obviously it's impossible to know exactly what it is but it'd be cool to hear some ideas :)

The general rule of thumb is skinny leaves equal sativa. But like all rules, there are exceptions. I would put it down as 100% most likely sativa.

Ok yeah that's kind of what I figured, thanks for the response Larry!

I've been keeping up with your grow (which looks great by the way) and always see you in the comments on other people's threads. I'm grateful and I'm sure others are as well to have someone who knows a thing or two about this stuff being so active in helping others and answering their questions. It's much appreciated and the reason a lot of us are here (:

Went outside to check on my plants this morning...
IMG_1118.JPG
And lo and behold the bagseed has grown an 8th leaf on its leaf

What is this madness?

Well I did some research and it turns out it's not as uncommon or crazy as I thought.

Still think it's pretty damn cool though

It's more common with seed plants than clones but they'll get up to 11 blades on the leaves i even had one like your 8 bladed leaf but it had 12!

Is this an early indication that it's a female? Sure as hell looks like some trichomes to me

I hope to hear back... I've been hoping this particular plant would be female. Would be some great news if it was!:bigjoint:

Bonus pic... anyone else have chickens?
They're great pest control and don't mess with the plants
