:leaf:Hello fellow RIU members:leaf:

I have a organic potting mix that I have started using just recently.

It has fir bark fines, forest humus, peat moss, worm castings, chix manure, aged bat guano, kelp meal, seaweed extract, ecto & endo mycorrhizae with benefical soil microbes in it.

So I have some good shit in it but I have a question or two about feeding my girls with other ferts.

How long does the amendments last in the soil before having to add my organic nutes to it?? That part Im not sure on.

Also would this mix be ok to use in veg or just flower? I dont wanna burn my babies up.

+++REP for helping this stoner out..:weed:
Thankx in advance 4 ur HELP!!!

How long the nutrients in the soil last will vary with plant and container size, fertilizer types, as well as other factors. A 5gal bucket of fertile soil can last for 6 weeks but weak ferts should be started sooner and slowly increased.

Don't use too much Kelp Meal and Seaweed extract together, they are almost the same thing. You should probably find another source of Potassium for late flowering.

What is the NPK of your Guano?

Don't use too much manure. Manures are usually acidic, have poor drainage characteristics and can take awhile to break down.

You should try to add perlite or pumice to help with drainage.

Yeah i do have lots of perlite in the mix also. This is actually Dr.Earth's organic potting soil that Im using. Those ingredients are in the mix.
I have added some Biobizz bloom and FF BB a couple of dayz ago. I just hope that its not over fertilized now. I see the growth moving slowly now. She is in the 2nd week of flowering now. The pot size it about a 3 gallon size.

i dont know if this helps you now or not but i inquired to dr earth about this same issue and milo responded by saying the potting soil feeds for 30 days before additional fertilizer is needed.
