There shouldn't be any reason 10w of LED gets so hot you can't touch it.
Well I cant touch them for more than 2 seconds , same thing when I read someone saying they can hold a 23w cfl in their hand indefinitely...
like WTF is your hand paralyzed I tried holding a 23w cfl and fucking burned my hand , with the blisters n shit.

to awnser your other remark , money is tight , I cant afford better lighting soom , I barely have enough money for food
Plus I dont even smoke weed anymore , kind of doing this for the fun of it and I will be repaying a dept to a friend with the dry weight lol

When you get a chance to save up, you should, even for something like $185 for a Tasty T1. You'll find the difference to be pretty unreal.

Thats the plan , I was supposed to get a 100w COB which I think will be enough for the micro grows I like to do , might just go for 200w when I have the money though, maybe when I switch my living conditions I will decide to smoke again and grow on a slightly larger scale :D

I get around a pound for 241w, plus fans, so 270w.

Hello.I recently read a lenghty thread on another forum about removing the diffusers from home LED bulbs and how that really increased the brightness of the bulb because its not being diffused and its more concentrated. So I tried that , I have a 23w cfl bulb and a 10w LED bulb without the diffusred , the led bulb is rated at 800lumens and the cfl around 1650.First thing I noticed , the led bulb without the diffuser is like twice as bright as the cfl bulb.I have my plants both 3-4 cm below the bulbs , one plant is directly under the led and on is under the cfl with just slight light from the led hitting it.I will try to keep them this way and see which bulb performs better. The plants are both the same age (broke the soil at the same time) , 11 days , they are both bagseed from the same bag.For some reason the plant under the led has shorter and wider leaves and the one under the cfl has longer thinner leaves.I don't know if the bulbs have anything to do with that though. Both bulbs are 2700k.
I will keep this thread updated once or twice a week if someone finds it interesting.
I switched recently to LED lights and settled with these guys. 8 weeks in and the plants are looking well. I reallyu liked their vids too as they explain the techhie stuff (which I was finding confusing at first) very well. Keep the thread open and let us know how you're getting on. It would be interesting to hear.
