Sounds good man! 90% complete!? There aren't even any lights yet! Lol jp man. So, on your second grow ever you are expecting to pull 1.2 Kg minimum, which is over two pounds, from 3 autoflowers that are going to finish in 2 months with only 16 cfls? Wooooooo if you pull that off they will need to find a spot for you in the weed hall of fame haha. Shoot for the moon!
yup! I'm adding another 10 CFLS to my setup and I have seen some guy pull 1kg of 1 plant with a DWC sprog setup using CFLS I was actually quite impressed with the performance of CFLS and consider them an investment to my hobby whether I upgrade to HID at a later stage or keep using CFLS I don't mind. I will try find a link to that video I sawhe literally pulled a kg dried bud off 1 auto in a Scrog setup. I don't doubt it one bit, of the expected yield is 400g per m2 so with 6m2 I should be able to get close to my target. let me find that link it is impressive

Hey man just checked out your grow. Why don't you invest in a few big CFL's instead of those tiny ones? Perhaps with reflectors etc? Much better light, still very cheap.

you do know that those big CFLs are less effiecient than the 23 watt CFLs producing more heat and less light for the same input power?

I didn't. I was sure they were more efficient..I wouldn't have suggested it if I knew.. My bad:-P
most of us are hear to learn and share knowledge those 125-250 watt CFLS produce 50-54 lumen per watt. while the 23 watt CFLs produce 69 lumens per watt. T5 HOs can produce close to 95 lumens per watt and standard T5s can produce over 100 lumens per watt

How about for flowering? Will T5's work decently for that as well?

No for you. Instead of those 10 coil CFL's you could replace with 1 big bulb. Unless you changed something in your grow already..
I have been growing with T5s for 3 years and have no desire to "upgrade" to 40 year old technology. tried COBS and was not impressed with the performance and HIDs produce way too much heat for a closet grow. there is an old saying. "you can have speed, quantity or quality. pick two". if you want to add LEDs to get more red for flowering this might be a cheap way to do that: http://www.ebay.com/itm/351405859538?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&var=620500954247&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT I have replaced CFLs in my home with these and they work great for lighting rooms. very bright and much more efficient than CFLs with a longer life expectancy. if you are looking for the best spectrum for plants than you can't beat florescent or the new LEC (CHM) high pressure ceramics. LEDs simply can not produce violet (430nm) or blue (470nm) light efficiently and HPS produce a lot of light plants can't use. florescents and LECs give a much more balance spectrum
I see switching over to cobs as an upgrade in the sense that it's a much more compact setup, as well as cleaner looking one. You have 4 little cobs dumping 48,000 lumens on your plant with only 400 watts. You also get anywhere from 8-12k lumens for every 100 watt cob you have, depending on product quality, opposed to maybe 6-7k for 100 watts of cfls. Cobs give a much higher gpw also, in the 1-1.5 gpw range rather than the .25-1 gpw cfl. I'm not knocking cfls or other fluorescents by any means, that's all I've ever grown with; I'm just stating facts. But, if I could only pick two, it would be speed/quality every time.

Lol do you man! That would be ridiculous if you pulled it off.

I get 0.7 gpw flowering with T5 HOs using a mix of 6500k/3000k. I have tried roseate and flora suns but saw no real improvement over 3000k bulbs. these girls have been flowering for 6 weeks under T5s and have 3 to 4 more weeks to go before they are mature and ready for harvest.I am no expert. just an average MMJ PU closet growers.

super silver haze. it works well for pain, nausea, insomnia and depression. I veg for 6 weeks and top once during veg but this strain takes 9-10 weeks in flowering. florescents will work for flowering which was the original question.my soil is a mix of peat moss, compost perlite and a little lime to balance the PH. I use miracle grow quick start, plant food and bloom. nothing fancy or expensive https://shop.ilovegrowingmarijuana.com/collections/feminised/products/super-silver-haze-marijuana-seeds

Nice bro, it looks good. I wish mine sativa would have finished in that amount of time. It's already going to be week 8 as of tomorrow, I doubt it will be finished in the next two weeks. The shit is annoying. It's going to be nothing but indicas for me for a while after this sat

we all live in different environments and need to find the strains that grow best for us. I live in the high desert where the air is thin and dry and it took a while to find strains that grow well up here. be patient and keep trying different things until you find what works good for you.

50 days of flower. I also trimmed most 3-5 bladed leaves. I left all sugar leaves on the plant. I really wanted to reveal the buds already, they had been engulfed in leaves for so long. Please don't chime in with any b.s. about clipping off fan leaves and photosynthesis and yada yada because I don't care. I already know the risks. I think it should be finished within a month. I'm waiting for the plumping of the bud!
