You'll need a ventilation fan and a small fan to blow on the plants. A closet less than 6 feet square is preferable, 30" X 30" is ideal. The 150 watt puts out some good light, but only about 12 inches from the bulb. You can have plants as close as 4 inches with proper ventilation and no burning.

What substrate are you using? Its best to grow 1 or 2 short, squat plants, with multiple buds. Try L.S.T and top them and bend the plant. I grew two crops with my 150 and they both stretched like a mother fucker. Keep em short and keep the light close, like 6" is ideal. Believe it or not those still get hot, so you will still need to have fresh air coming in and circulating well, then being expelled properly.

You should get a clamp light with a y adapter and 2 6500k bulbs to go with to mix it up with the spectrum. More light, More Lumens.

none, as long as the temps stay above 60 you're fine. when the lights are on thats all the heat you'll need. And you don't need more light. 150 watts of HPS puts out 16,000 lumens. what's the point of adding another 2,000 with cfl's and T-5's. T5's are good but they should be used exclusively. I'm thing about switching over to them, I've seen some great results and the temps stay cooler and they use less power. But your HPS will do the trick. Good luck man

I have to disagree with you on this. If the temperature differential between his dark and light cycle is too dramatic, it could induce unwanted stretching in the plants, defeating the purpose of LST. Say his temps are peaking at about 78 degrees with a 150W HPS, and then he shuts it off for the dark cycle, and the temps drop 18 degrees, to 60. This is a very large differential, and could also potentially cause the plant to go hermie (any unnecessary stress can cause this).

Ideally, you want the temperature difference between your light and dark cycle to top out between 5-8 degrees difference. Any more than this and you're adding stress to the equation.

Are you on a strict budget?

Personally, I would follow nearly the same route that I, myself, am putting together. Make a vertical circular ScrOG, using one or two 150W HID bulbs in a cooltube. This way, you can utilize more of the square footage available in your closet, and your ladies can get as close as they want to the lighting without fear of burning. Use a small fan to circulate the air, and if you have the funds and the opportunity, see if CO2 injection is feasible. More square footage equals longer vegging time for your plants, but you should be able to pull a harvest 1.5 - 2x as large as you would if you were just hanging the lamp above the plants. How tall is your closet? You said it was 28x15, but you never said how tall it is.

ya i am on a strict budget. the closet i am using is just under 6ft. this is my second grow. My first grow was outdoor but i got my plants got stolen =[.but if i dont go with my closet grow i want to go with a small pc box grow or even start my plants out indoor then bring the girls to the spot were she will spend till she is harvested. For my ventilation i plan on using 4 small computer fans.[easy to access to them].:bigjoint:

Know the feeling growing on a budget too. Also have 150hps. I use 150hps, small fan, air pump & air stone etc. I just now entered flowering about 2 days ago so don't know the end results just yet but as far as seedling through vegitation all i used was 150hps keep the light about 6 inches from the top never had any kind of burn. growing in a 2x6x6. I grew 3. Lush green and healthy. the lighting was 18/6. nothing special was done to the walls. as far as the temps go my closet got cold too so i just keep them off of the floor by putting something under them. Used botanicare PRoGro. Also cut the lower branches just before flowering hopefully this works.
