16 days from seed, to early to top?

this is my second time growing indoors, but started out with clones. this time i got a hold of some bag seeds from some shitty ass mexican weed. i have grown this same kind of seeds before outdoors and the plants end up growing really tall even after topping at different ages. so i want to be able to have the most plants that i can with out getting out of control.

so this is my setup
tent-32x32x63in
light- mars hydro 400w
intake fan and small stationar fan inside
temps range from 65 to 80
humidity range from 55 to 70
water every time soil gets dry and pot weight
nuts- general hydroponics

05/29/17
-seeds were left in a cup of water with one tbs of 0.5% peroxide for 36 hours
05/31/17
- seeds planted in biodegradable cups and soil and some in jiffy pellets.
-fist day in grow tent under ligths w/ a 16 to 8 cycle.
06/06/17
-jiffy pellets were falling behind in growth so transplanted all to biodegradable cups.
- fist time feeding floraGroo at 1/2 the recommendations on tag.

Way to early to top .my opinion . I wait till I have 4 or 5 nodes
alrigrh ill see how long it takes for them to get their 4th node, i just toped 4 out of the 29, i planted so many to have the best 6 after i can sex them. and ill just see what ends up working the best.:weed:

I am in the same phase as you I plan on letting them go till they are about 10 "s tall then taking a clone and root it under 12/12 to get it to show. 10 's cut down to 6 inches or at least 5 solid looking sets of nodes.

great plan man!!! But i have 1 setup only so i woulnt be able to sex the clones.

On average how tall do your plants end up with this method?

Also when you top it leave about a good half inch of stem above the last node so it wont split the stem when it gets bigger.
I have always had great results topping after the 4th node and making a nice "T" to scrog train with.
I just don't do it with my auto's, only tie down for them.

Many, many factors to determine this. I just like to have a lot of happy plant before I start cutting. I compare it to my cloning philosophy, I would rather cut my clones a week late when I can get perfect material from the donor plant rather than cut on schedule and get small cuts. If I experiment with both, 5 weeks later typically I will have bigger happier and better 2week old plants then the 3 week old plants.

So keeping that in mind is my plan with the seedlings.

I have never done scroging before, is it better to have acouple pots on scrog or many just toped? Due to the amount of plants i have for the space many of them will have to go.

I top as early as possible to I can have more developed locations to top later. Also the topped shoots are slightly lower and I find I have an easier time tying them down as such.

I'm a 5th node guy myself. Top once and lst plant to form a rectangle to fill my tent. But I only grow one plant per tent so there is that.
Thats what ive been looking into, my original plan was to grow as many plants i could fit in my tent, i would use at least one gallon pots. but i dont know if it would be better to have just one plant in 15gallon pot and scrog her.

I'm doing an experiment that has turned out really well. I'm using a wide pot it's actually a plastic tote from an office store but the width of it has made for an awesome turn out on my super cropped Black Domina1497224227051-554293213.jpg 1497232282713-200153560.jpgI have since decided that width accounts for a whole lot more then depth

On average I yield about a pound per plant that way. My record was a Blue Kush plant that I got 18 oz from. My homemade closet is about 4x4x6 with 600w hps and side lighting wit cfl and uv reptile bulbs.

I'm also in DWC so the yields are going to be significantly higher.

Well, I have a homemade "closet" that is approximately 3.5'x4'x6'. I top once to get 2 main stalks. Then tie them down in opposite directions, followed by tying lower branches at 90 degrees from what I tied the top. This creates a kinda cube shape to plant and in the end will usually fill my closet space up nicely. I've had some grow wild on me but have had decent luck with this technique. I use a 600w air cooled hood with cfl lighting on side and a couple t5 reptile bulbs for uv.
