Lol - no kidding!

When I told hubby that I was being told “too much love” and didn’t think I’d ever been accused of *that* he said, “No? What was that you used to say to the cat? ‘I’m gonna love him and hug him and squeeze him to pieces’ - Isn’t THAT too much love?”

So, not much change - but the leaves on the 2nd plant that were both on one side are now standing up - not sure if it’s progress or if she’s raising her hands in surrender.

I do see new root growth in both rapid rooters - which were awfully dry this morning. Gave about 10-15 ml to each so they arent soaked, but good and wet, and put about 7 ml on the hydroton itself. By having them in the hydroton, I figure any excess water can drip off the sponge and the hydroton can catch it to wick it BACK to the sponge if needed.

Conundrums for today ... (input always appreciated)

Since its now 7 days since my seeds have been up, and there seems to be soooooo little development (to my eyes anyway), I’m wondering if it’s time to put these girls into the DWC buckets. Initially I was going to do one in hydro and one in soil, but changed my mind and am going to do both in hydro (one regular DWC bucket and one water farm bucket). I’m worried about those poor little roots drying up in their current set up (great info out there for STARTING seeds in rapid rooters, and great info out there for once they are IN the buckets, just not much info on how to maintain the rapid rooters during what seems to me to be an awkward in between stage - hence why mine are in cups with hydroton at the moment). But, I’m also wondering if maybe I’m just being impatient.

My other conundrum for the day is my lighting. Currently, my Maxbloom 400w LED lights are 15” above the plants and the veg light is set to 25%. Wondering if I should raise the percentage of lighting? Manufacturer suggested 10% at 12”-18” above seedlings, but god that seems weak. I’m also afraid to “burn” my girls with light that could be too intense.

Sheesh - I have never experienced his much anxiety over plants! So much for simply dropping a seed in the soil and watering the bloody thing.

... I hate being such a newb ...

I've only been growing for a year so I'm pretty noobish too. Couple of things I know is that leaves pointing up is good, the first seven days can be brutally slow, seedlings don't need a lot of light and it's easy to burn them especially with strong LEDs.

So I always go from seedling in the cube maybe two days after it's broken out before I put them in the bucket. I adjust the bucket water height as needed to keep it moist. I was going to warn not to let the stay in that hydroton too long. I would be worried about disturbing roots as you transplant. all of those rocks will fall away when you move it and it could possibly damage any roots that have started filling the medium. Usually you're fine if you just let the rooter or cube sit on a propagation tray until you wanna bucket them. Sorry I can't help much on led heights but you can always start high and if you notice stretch you can bring it down. Manufacturer recommendations should be a good starting point

@SmokeyMcChokey thanks - Glad my train of thought wasn't so far off 8). Maybe once they are in the buckets they’ll see some further development. If not, I still have more seeds (all auto fems): 5 hubbabubbasmelloscope, 5 lowryder, and 3 blueberry. I’m just DYING *lol*.

Also thanks to you Alex!

The Hubbabubbasmelloscope is a strain from Mephisto Genetics (cross between - I believe - bubble gum and white widow) ... they have some good reviews as does that strain, so I thought I’d give it a shot. I’ve read reports of a minimum of 1-2oz per plant and even one guy who got 6oz off a single plant.

Flora Micro - 1/2 tsp
Flora Grow - 1/2 tsp
Flora Bloom - 1/2 tsp
Total PPM - 217
Ph - 5.56

Water Farm (2 gallons distilled water):
CalMag - 1 tsp
Flora Micro - 1/4 tsp
Flora Grow - 1/4 tsp
Flora Bloom - 1/4 tsp
Total PPM - 261
Ph - 5.66

Lights at 16” from seedlings at 25%

Two newer pics ... the little gal in the water farm now has her leaves more open instead of straight up in the air. Sis is coming along nicely too.
