Hey Y'all! Just wanted to start a journal! This is my first grow. Well, It's been over 15+ years since I grew (God that makes me feel old!! haha! ..so I'm calling it my first! :P

Setup: I've got 2 tents, one 4x4 for vegging, and a 5x5 for flowering. In the Vegging tent I've got an adjustable 600w HPS light, convertible to MH but I have it on HPS for them vegging. I read in Ed Rosenthals Book that HPS has proven better in the vegging state. But anybody with experience using both, I'd love to hear your opinions! :)

In the Flowering tent I've got 1 1000w HPS light set to super lumens. I've got an ac unit in there to keep the room a steady 82 degrees with the light on..also a carbon filter and an inline duct fan to keep fresh air coming in. My hubby has made a pretty cool contraption for co2 that we have in there as well! :)

I planted the seeds on Feb. 23rd. They had a pretty rough start. I made the mistake of not giving them fertilizer for the first pretty much month and a half. They started showing signs of nute defincinies about 1 month in. Mostly yellowing of the lower leaves and spots on the leaves. I also wasn't PHing the plants and I know the PH of my tap water is almost at 8, so I'm sure that was probably causing problems as well. Didn't have an ac unit either so the plants were showing signs of heat stress as well! LOL They were looking kind of sad! As you can see....

The pictures In this post are of them when they were 5 weeks old.

These are pics taken from April 22nd..(These are the Tutankhamon and 1 Ayuhuasca Purple) in these pictures they are 8 1/2 weeks. These are about half of the plants. We started the Tutankhamon and 1 Ayuhuasca to flower. These were the tallest of all the girls. The others will remain in veg for another 4 weeks and then I'm going to start them flowering under the 600w HPS until these girls are harvested, then I'll move the others into the bigger tent under the 1000w to finish their flower cycle. So at this point they have been on the 12/12 cycle for 2 weeks. They seemed to have recovered from their deficiencies they were having for the most part. I still have a lot of yellowing leaves towards the bottom of the plants. They are now getting fed, 1 tsp Dyna-zyme, 3 TBSP Fox Farm Big Bloom, and 2 tsp of Tiger Bloom/gallon of water. Each plant is getting 1 gallon of water. PH was a pretty steady 6.3-6.5 for my water. As you can see they are just starting to form some buds! :)

Now we are up to date...These were taken yesterday and a few from today! They have been flowering for 3 weeks and 2 days as of today! :)

5-2 Watered Flowering Room with 1 tsp Dyna-Zyme, 1 TB Fox Farm Big Bloom, 2 tsp Tiger Bloom, and 1 tsp Blackstrap Molasses. Didn’t need to use PH Down as PH was right around 6.3-6.4 range. Girls are looking great and starting to smell amazing! The Ayuhuasca Purple looks the best, it already has crystals all over the leaves near the buds! Today was the first day to use Blackstrap molasses. The buds also look denser than the Tutankhamon. Temperature since they have been flowering has been a pretty constant 82 degrees while lights are on. While lights are off temps drop to about 72-74 degrees.

Does anybody have any experience with these two strains?

What do you guys think? Do they look like they are doing alright? Any advice or tips?

Just wanted to post an update! They are now 4 weeks and 2 days into flowering! It's been a week since I posted the last pictures. Anybody have any idea how much these girls might yield?IMG_0330.JPGIMG_0327.JPG IMG_0328.JPG

Update time! :) They are now 5 weeks into flower. About another 3 weeks to go. They seemed to have slowed down. Not sure if that's normal or not. Would love some input!

Update: Took pics 3 days ago but just now updating. The buds are looking more mature..Hopefully they start packing on some more weight soon though. I think they still have another 2-3 weeks. I had some mishaps with my light. Turns out my timer had a short in it and the lights weren't coming on as they should. 3 different times since they've been in flower, the light didn't come on at all until I noticed and they only had a few hours left of light. So who know's how far that has set them behind, so they might have a little longer than 2-3 weeks. Hopefully around June 18th we will be able to harvest.

I added a little bit of veg nutes with their regular nutes to give them a little extra nitrogen...some advice I got in another thread.. I guess the leaves were all yellowing a little early. Anyways, I think they look fairly healthy. Also put a trellis net over them as the buds are getting heavy and starting to fall over..

Ive grown out Tut before several years ago and got another one going right now. Its a nice plant yields very well and decently strong.
Nice! When I ordered all my seeds I was focusing on high yields. Do they pack on a lot of weight in the last couple weeks?

Weekly update! Girls have another 2-3 weeks to go. Seem to be doing pretty good. Just flipped the switch on my 2nd tent and they have been showing signs of first flowers for a little over a week now. They are just under a 400wHPS, I'll crank it up to 600w once I get my carbon filter in the mail, hopefully today or tomorrow. Once the big girls are done they'll go in that tent under the 1000w HPS to finish flowering. I think these girls are going to be awesome, they had an extra month to veg and they are monsters! They are Ayahuasca Purple and Sugar Black Rose. On to the pics! :)IMG_0466.JPGIMG_0467.JPG IMG_0468.JPGIMG_0469.JPG IMG_0470.JPGIMG_0471.JPG

I had one pheno that packed a good bit of weight on. I grew most outside in the sun and they also had a problem with bud mold due to the buds being dense and big and not being able to air out.

ok..I have been seriously slacking in the update department! LOL I have been taking pics, just not uploading here. So here's a few weeks worth of updates! These pics were taken June 6th.

The pics above are in the 4x4 tent under the 600wHPS, They are Ayahuasca Purple and Sugar Black Rose. These girls are monsters. They seemed to recover from the phosphorous deficiency they were having, but for some reason a lot of leaves are yellowing and falling off. It's hard to see in these pics as it's mainly on the inner part of the plant and the bottom. It seems like a nitrogen deficiency, but they have gotten lots of nitrogen...even showing some signs of a nitrogen toxicity. Other than that they seem pretty healthy!

The big tent that's close to finishing, these are Tutankhamon and there is one ayahuasca purple..

They seem to be getting close. I ordered a microscope so I can start checking trichomes... Don't want to cut them down to early. They have been flowering since April 9th. So a little over 9 weeks in these pics. We have had a few setbacks. The timer was messed up and they missed a total of 3 light cycles...So were in darkness pretty much 24 hours on 3 separate occasions. We got that all dialed in now though. Wasn't sure at the time, if it was the timer or the ballast that was messing up. That might have something to do with why they aren't finished yet. The breeder claimed these are an 8-9 week finisher.

These girls (Sugar Black Rose and Ayahuasca Purple) are really starting to get their flower on and they are monsters! I think they are root bound though. I think that's where my problems have been coming from with the leaves yellowing and falling off. They were in 5 gallon pots. I went ahead and ordered 7 gallon Smart Fabric pots. We used the fox farms soil and went ahead and transplanted them. We had gotten some advice from a distributor at the grow store and they said that we should go ahead and transplant them otherwise we might hurt our harvest. So that is what we did on June 18th. After transplanting, I'd say they were definitely root bound. Hoping to see some improvement with the yellowing of the leaves..although, they are a month into flowering and have roughly a month left, so might not see any improvement at all... haha!
