1st Scrog 2x Purple kush CFL grow

Hey Bucket, nice grow here.

Here is the way I have my lights set up on the sides, and yeah I agree that it would help your ladies perk up a little.

Its a little hard to see with them on but I have the power strip secured to the side of the case. I think hot glue is a god send when it comes to DIY cabinets. Easy to use, and strong.

Good Luck :joint:

Thanks. yeah I have to switch them to horizontal still. the only reason i havent yet is because i keep moving my lights up and down and it would be a pain if they were screwed in or taped.

how long are you veging 4 bro?
I was hoping to veg for 6 weeks which is up now, im thinking ill let them veg for a week longer or 2, because im pretty sure Purple Kush doesnt stretch that much. the screen is a bit over half full right now. if anyone has any insight into the stretch of this strain that would be great.

Week 6

The plants have grown quite a bit in the past 2 weeks, still looking a bit unhealthy. ive backed right off on the nutes because im pretty sure ive been giving them too much, the leaf edges are burning and they arent near the lights so i think its nute burn. the new growth is nice and green but the older growth is looking pretty raddy. The screen is a bit over half full, im thinking of flowering them pretty soon. probably a week or 2, i was going to wait till the screen was 3/4 full as Im pretty sure PK doesnt stretch much. if anyone thinks differently or knows differently please let me know. here are some pics

This is where I'm seeing the nute burn that Im thinking.

yeah bro id flush those girls and get them another week under ya veg cycle
then do ya magic bro watch that nute burn brotha gud luck!!!!

Are you checking the pH of the nutrients and water that you are giving them? Veg plants need 5.5-5.8 pH. I give veg nutes through the first week of flowering depending on strain. A Kush maybe just a few days. Then in flower cannabis plants need 5.7-6.1 pH. Buy either a pH meter or pH testing strips.

Key to growing is...light- strength and color- what color (Kelvin) are you using for veg and bloom?

Nutrient pH- those nutes you are using are made for house plants probably which is buffered to a higher pH. Cannabis like a more acidic environment and nutrient strength. Also nutrient strenght is very important. Back way off on the nutrient strength. When you get the pH in the proper range for our beloved plant it won't take much food to make them happy. Canna is usually not very hungry until middle flower. Try adding a little bit of epsom salt ~1.25-.5 teaspoons per gallon when you mix. It looks like the gals have nitrogen excess and mag deficiency. EC or PPM (electroconductivity and parts per million) meters come in pens for $30-50 or multi meters with probes that measure pH, and EC. Please let me know if I can help.

Best to you and Happy Growing CP

he is in soil the ph should not be 5.5 -5.8..more like 6.6-6.8...i would give them ph'd water and no nutes for the next 2 waterings...then switch to 12-12..most kushes are going to take 8plus weeks to finish after the switch...good luck...i would also have gotten larger pots if you are going to veg this long.

no i havent been checking PH or EC or PPM, i havent purchased a meter yet. I was thinking about buying one for my next grow though. Youre probably right, something there is probably off. Yeah i probably should have gotten bigger pots, I guess we'll see what the root mass looks like when i harvest and then ill know for sure i guess. I wasnt planning on vegging this long, its taken quite a bit longer to veg than i thought. I'm guessing because of the things i havent been checking and because of the poor nute choice. im going too upgrade for my next grow for sure. does anyone know of cheap online nutes in canada and a cheap ph ec tds meter? is it possible to get ph'd water without a PH meter? would water from the grocery store work?

for the lights, buy some individual reflectors for each cfl or just use soemthing white to reflect light back down once you turn them sideways (reflector would be best)

for watering, feel the weight of the pot....if you feel weight it doesnt need water....if the pot feels light then it needs water.....feel when you water then you know what it feels like just watered.
you should only be watering when its feeling light to very light. you will get a feel when you do it a few times. check everyday so you can see the progression. then you will know right away when they need water.

for nutes.... you said u used organic soil? so it will have plenty of nutes in it already to get by for a few weeks. So you have been most likely over feeding.

for the ph.... go to crappy tire and go to the pool section and get one of the PH test kits (like 5 or 6 bucks). will do you just fine.

it could be possible that your tap water is close enough to use without buying any ph down..but i doubt it..you can go on ebay and buy a ph test kit for 3 dollars(free delivery) nutes can be got anywhere..at a hydro store or even a nursery or a target or walmart..good luck

You should get rid of those drive bays at the top... loads of lost space right there.

Just drill out the rivets with an 1/8" bit and trim anything that isn't removable with tin snips.
