There has been over 22,400 arrests for cannabis possession in Canada since Trudeau became Prime Minister.

I derive that number from the last reported rate of cannabis possession arrests in Canada of 160 per day, or one every 9 minutes. There is no indication that the rate of arrests has slowed since Trudeau took over, with many police forces explicitly saying they are continuing to enforce the possession laws as strictly as ever. Bill Blair agrees, saying he wants pot busts to continue.

Yet according to Bill Blair, a disproportionate number of these arrests are among “minority communities, aboriginal communities and those in our most vulnerable neighbourhoods.”

So why continue to make possession arrests? How can Trudeau and Blair acknowledge that prohibition is enforced in a very racially biased manner, confirm that they are going to legalize cannabis soon, but refuse to do anything now to stop those pointless and harmful arrests from continuing to happen?

Trudeau is right when he says decriminalization isn’t the right solution for cannabis. But it is the right first step. Stopping arrests for possession and personal cultivation is the best first step towards ending the war on cannabis. Plus, allowing Canadians to grow a few plants for personal use will help to break the hold of the black market.

All Canadians should be calling upon Trudeau and Blair to end arrests for personal possession, and to end arrests for personal cultivation now.

All that has to happen is to remove possession of under 30 grams of cannabis from Schedule II of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. This is actually quite an easy thing to do, and wouldn’t even require an act of Parliament. The same thing could be done with cultivation of 5 plants or less for personal use.

Of course there’s many more steps that need to be taken, and time is needed to figure out the details. But we can be more patient with that process if the Liberals make a real show of good faith now, and take these two simple but important steps without delay.

Click here to join with the 10,000 Canadians who have already signed an online petition calling for an end to cannabis arrests. Let’s show Trudeau and Blair that Canadians want immediate action on this issue.

I was thinking about all these people the other day... Couldn't every single one of them go after and try to sue the government and municipalities the second it is legalized? They might not be awarded a financial settlement but they should certainly have their records wiped?
Or maybe I'm just too medicated lol

Using 2014 data to make extrapolations stated as facts about 2016 incidences. Okay.....

He took the number last reported of 160/day, which was reported back in 2014 and then multiplied it by the number of days Trudeau has been prime minister. Thats some grade A scientific shit!
No stats, no facts, no polls.

Yes patients...
But, what if....
Justin has admitted to smoking herb. So imagine if he had been caught maybe passing the joint and been charged with trafficking, as that is what the current law would have called for...
Let's assume he would have been tried and received a record. He would now be on the same level as a rapist, armed bank robber, or any other violent criminal - according to the law.
Some crime fighting hero such as the Honourable Bill Blair, would have been credited for keeping Justin Trudeau from ever being in charge of anything- such is life for a felon in Canada.
But, seeing this never happened to Justin, everyone else should just wait.....

In Canada we are all equal - JUST SOME ARE MORE EQUAL THAN OTHERS

Gee, Chris. You're not going to rush in here and tell us how this isn't Justin's fault because blah blah blah...?
Gee Dizzy, I see your adding depth to the conversation again. I thought you'd realized how utterly pathetic your obsession with me was, and moved on. Actually, if you read the article it says the number's are based on a previous figure of 160 arrests per day. There is no date given to determine when they arrived at that figure or where the information came from. There is also no stats on arrests since the Liberals came to power, simply the multiplication of the mythical 160 arrests per day. In other words, this article is merely a fluff piece and not based on any facts.

Yeah...been a while since I was in grammar school...and even longer since I cared...
Correcting somebody's grammar on a mmj forum just makes one look like a putz, imo. But hey, thank you for erasing you're comment about my incorrect usage of the word your...we wouldn't want that to get out! lol :eyesmoke::peace:
