250hps for seed production

More than enough(considering we're refering to a reasonably sized area that we're lighting up with it). Normally folks use lower powered lights like floro's for seedlings/clones.
I dont own floro's so I always just use my 250w, with an MH bulb though as it's better for veg.

You could do a full grow with a 250w and get good product.

Thanks for the great reply anon emaus..It would be 4 plants in a 80x80x150cm 1 gal Coco each...And the male would be pulled after it's done its job :)...
That'll be perfect. Just start it at like 50cm or so above the seedlings to not over heat. As they mature you can bring a 250w pretty close since heat output isnt that strong, just watch for curling leaves/spiky serrated tips to show overheating.

I've noticed the less light the better with seedlings for example with my Budmaster cobx4 on full power (hanging from the tent frame) is far 2 strong but when I cut the power in half 100w I got lovely growth.id use a 400w when u pot em up n give em time to fill out then repot again if you'd like. But my 200w Budmaster does a 3x3

Anon emaus great info again thank you..The slipper bandit that 200w bushmaster must be AWESOME to do a 3x3 with only 200w ...I do plan on potting up for sure the roots just explode in Coco..Thanks to both of u for helping a newbie out..U guys ROCK :bigjoint:

[QUOTE"theslipperbandit, post: 13477378, member: 909522"]So he's popping seeds under a 250w ...same applies imo[/QUOTE]
No he Is growing a plant just to impregnate it and get the seeds. Hes not really worried about the actual pot. Basically they keep plant under just enough light to keep plant alive to finish seeds out.
