just ordered all my shit right now. looks like it will all be delivered by the 23rd so expect to see a working press and results from me in the near future. i have 72g of kief to press :)
72 Grams of kief? Thats a little nuts.
sheeeeit 72g of kief I'd be blowing fat joints of straight kief, try it if you haven't, terp city hash clouds

I use a 1.5ton mead pneumatic for some production work that I hope will double as a rosin press, hopefully I have some info to add on how well that size of a press is working for rosin and the capabilities of puck size it can handle.

For now I use a table top 3" vice and it is functional but a bit primitive

i had three pounds of trim to tumble lol. theres still a lot of thc left in there so it will get blasted after its tumbled for oil :) no man left behind. if you havent already, look up when they press kief into rosin on youtube. fat yields. no one seems to want kief. only wax or rosin

make sure you put that in a bag when you press it or it will get all in your extraction, good luck and happy pressing.

Being an absolute noob, I'd like to see a video on your whole process.
Most what I do is in this one...
hey whats the best place to get the pre press for the pucks as well as the bags and whatnot?
There are more links to everything on the youtube page of the video in the description. Pre press is handmade with wood for me...but some companies do make them, but are $$$.

Great work OP. I watch a lot of DIY vids on many topics and you're very easy to follow... its a rare set of skills!

Been tempted by DIYing a rosin setup for a long time... this may well just tip me over into doing it this summer.

progress of the night. our holes didnt line up for shit on the flange lol. its all good though. i can either ream out the flange holes or just say fuck it since it only has to hold the flange to the press. gonna fiddle with the wiring tonight a little bit since i dont have to work early tomorrow. should be smashing kief and buds soon :)

btw i hope that its cool that i'm posting my stuff in here. just figured it was pertinent since it was this thread that made me take the plunge to build :)

Nothing sure how you did it, but in the future, clamping the flange when marking will help alignment, as will Center punching your holes.

got it all wired up and its functioning except i have one faulty heater element. gonna order another pair so i have a backup in case of future failures. for now i will just have to preheat longer with the plates pressed together to get a good transfer of heat to the non heated plate. looks like i'll be pressing by tomorrow morning

Hell ya man!!! Easy peasy right. It looks so good. And you went right through the flange with no extension needed...love it!

Keep us posted on your squishing adventures.
It was all super easy except I had a little trouble with the wiring since it didn't show where the plug came from in the diagram so it was throwing me off. I was trying to trace your wires in the video and kept going back and forth till I finally got it figured out. Other than that it was easy. First time tapping holes and it was fine. Just go slow and take your time. Thanks again for the great diy videos. I wouldn't have attempted it and saved all that money without you. As soon as I locate some bags or next day amazon them I will get squishing. Gonna build a mold tomorrow and get some patties pressed and ready :)
