2800 watts to much?

8 ladies in a room that's 10x5 but only lighting 6x5.

I have California light works 550, advance spec s9000, some random LED pulling 320 at the wall. I just picked up a deva 1000w de. I am running co2, RDWC so my question is am I going to be pushing to hard at full power? Currently week1 of flower, I plan to start low and slowlY creep up to 1k and watch how they handle it.

Thanks for any advice in advance

You should just get a PAR meter and use it to answer your question.

Watts isn't a good measure in this case other than for the cost side of the equation. The more efficient the light is, the more light per watt you get. So the answer to your question is maybe.

Good point, the deva and ss550 are pretty high end so it might be worth the 50$ investment. I was hoping someone was running a similar lighting set up. The two Chinese LED panels are middle of the road with 12 band and decent coverage. Might be worth taking those two and framing off another 4x4 for another grow space.

Yeah. The Chinese panels could be your veg lights and the DE and CLW SS 550 your flower lights. That's how I'd run it. Your 4x6 will be plenty saturated with the DE and SS 550.

I have t5 for veg, an 250watt cfl, 8 tube and 4tube T5HO. Seems it might be time to expand a little

Had to edit my screen name, auto fill fail

I would yank the boards out of the chinese panels and drive them low enough to hang on the walls passively. Even if they only put out 250 PPFD 8 inches away, that is a good side boost or a veg light. 250 PPFD can get you 12-20 DLI which is more than enough for seedlings.

I have 2 mars pro 160's, with the switches, didn't trust their remote, and a 1200. I bought these because cheap and everyone lies, claiming to have strongest light in the world. I was disappointed in 1st grow didn't get half lb with 1000w of power, compared to my 600w hps, which I can probably get a lb with no lst or fertilizer. I was pissed, I heard good things about the osram, ended up with 2 clw ss550's. First run I got 7 grams shy of 2lb, i did do a lot of lst and topping, 7 gal pots. In that run it was 10 clones, in another setup with mars, same 10 clones. The clw pulled 2lb, mars 1200 and 2 pro series pulled 17 oz's. You definitely get what you pay for. I'm trying to find journal using the timber cob's, Cree and vero, I'm about to purchase not sure what to get, but need at least 400 to 600w to get started.

You are exactly right, I am also going to build my next led, I will not buy another premade unless it's clw, going to stick with 1000w boosted with CLW 550 plus employ some uvb at the end should have each site lite up quite nice

I got the deva 1k hooked up and goodlawd does that thing throw light EVERYWHERE

There's a forum over on grass city where there's a fella that runs all his DIY, talking tens of thousands in drivers and led'swhen I get a kilt toe more time illl try to link. I've been reading all of his stuff and he did mention he runs videos. Up haven't got that far yet

I can't make my mind up on 900w vero or 900 or 1000w Cree. I just got an email, they have a clw ss1100 coming out. Rep said he can get me one, but there not on website yet. Hey BM9AGS, what's your opinion on which to go with, I'll build my own frame. Just haven't seen much on the vero29. Not used to this site can't load pics

vero29 gen 7 are awesome, but you only need 40 to 50w per sq foot in there.anything over 40w per sq ft is waste without co2. if you are dead set on using that de lamp in there i would just add 200w of cobs to both sides of it and be good to go @ 46w per sq ft.

For what its worth....
I like the cobs at 50 watts per sq/ft.
My mate uses 4 x 660 watts HPS - 2640 watts in a 5ft x 5ft tent with no ill effects and solid buds.

I've never had the chance to try co2 in my set up.
Recently I revamped my room so it's possible now.
I use an Evolution Fan Speed Controller so I just need their co2 board and I'm ready.
Gas will only cost a bag of grass.
I have the light power so I might give it a go come summertime.
My mates 5x5 tent is in bedroom so he couldn't run co2 but he breathes enough out.... lol
He also runs 2 x 8" box fans for extraction !

I've never ran co2 either. I have a big tank that I used to fill paintball guns. Will this type of tank work, obviously have to buy controller and few other things. I think 100lb tank, same size as oxygen or acetylene tanks
