2nd grow

My first was illegal a few years back. Only did one run and stopped out of paranoia. Running 1000 watt light racked my power bill up fast and made me feel nervous cuz of it. That and the loud pumps running my dwc system vibrated my whole house, LMFAO. I had no ph meter. I used the Lucas formula only in the middle of winter, freezing temps in my attic and somehow I managed to pull 2 ounces per plants with four plants. I don't know how I got to the finish line honestly. I had not much of a clue as to what in the hell I was doing. This grow is my second. I'm operating legal now in my home state of Michigan and that's a huge relief. I can grow up to 12 plants for myself now by law. I have dropped well over a grand in new nutrients and equipment, I put everything I had into this grow now. I now have a bluelab combo meter and have done extensive research over the last few years on growing. This time I actually know what I am doing. Trying to at least double my previous crop yield per plant. I am aiming for 4 ounces per plant now that I can test ph and ec and ppm and have a better environment that isn't freezing ass cold. I have done a lot of hard work to get where I'm at and I am excited for this new venture. It's always been my dream to be a good pot farmer cuz I always hated smoking shitty weed, now look what I'm chasing. Going after my dreams and it feels great. But wait, my pockets hurt. It's an expensive hobby I have come to find. I think I need a second job to support my grow. Wish me luck. Glad I joined this site for reading and information and to meet new ppl that like to learn to grow the best weed they can . Nice to meet y'all and hope to see you around in the forums.

Yes, there is an ongoing cost to growing inside your home. Everything from the power bill and nutrients, to the required time it takes a person to tend to their plants on a daily basis. There are a couple misconceptions with growing weed that noobs come to realize during their first grow, like growing weed is easy and free. Neither of those two statements are accurate in the least. However, when you compare the yields to the market price of weed, you'll see that you're producing something of value. Say you grow for three months and yield 10oz from 4 plants. If the market value is $300/oz, then you've produced a product worth $3000. Here's the thing though, if you aren't selling it, then you're not profiting from it. If you're only growing for yourself, then you don't need to grow a bunch of plants, when only four may cover your needs. If you only grow for your needs, you'll find that the cost of growing can be scaled down significantly.

Unless you're selling it, which it doesn't sound like you are, don't grow much more than you need for yourself, and to store extra for emergency.
