2nd try White Rhino AG CFL Grow ***Help welcome***

Ok folks....Im back. I had to take a moment of silence for my 1st grow that didnt go so well(see signature) .

so here we go for round 2. Here is a recap of where I am right now.

I germed 2 white rhino fem. seeds on Sunday Nov. 1st and Planted them on Tuesday Nov. 3rd.

I have NOT used any Nutrients yet just filtered water. PH is 5.0-6.0

I got the AG Deluxe white on a table in a medium sized closet with fans blowing to keep the temp down.

got a 6 in airstone providing my bubbles

Lights - I accidentally broke the middle AG hood grow bulb (opps) but im still using the other 2 stock bulbs in the AG hood.

I added 4 Dual spectrum II Vegetative CFL lights (85w 6500k each) that I got from Stealth Hydro

Im on 20/4 light schedule right now and will switch to 12/12 when I reach 11-13inches tall.

when I flower I will swap out the 4 vegetative CFLs for 4 Flowering CFLs (85w 3000k)



I will update frequently and will have questions for you pros out there so help me out ....

Ok here are some pics.

i Decided to go with 2 plants instead of 3 after taking all your opinions. Im really pissed that I wasted 3 seeds last time so this must work. So, any help will be very appreciated.

the plant in the front middle spot seems to be really droopy (maybe time for nutes???) the other plant is starting to lean a lil bit (i just took the lil plastic caps off and maybe the breeze from the fan is pushing it.


FYI 3 days ago I had to manually pull the front middle plants root thru the sponge. I just cut the sponge in half and made sure the root was out the bottom. Now even though it is shorter....the root is almost at the water while the other one isnt quite out of the bottom of the sponge yet.

Good luck man I'm 5 weeks into my first grow with the aerogarden and Ive been having problems figuring out how to get my hoses in and out of the ag without letting to much light in, I'm going to steal your duct tape idea

Hey guys?!? are my plants looking good or are they too small for 7 days in. plus one is tipping over pretty hard like shes LSTing her self almost. I was going to wait till next week to add nutes but I might add some tomorrow.

what do you all think??

Yea I did just that. Just changed the Res.

I took a gallon of filtered water and put one of the small tabs of Aerogarden Nutrients in it and let it dissolve and checked the PH (it is 6). then I cleaned out the Res and added the Nute water.

I did this last night and there has not been any change as of yet. Both Plants look nice and green just one is still leaning. It only started leaning when I removed the lil plastic domes. Not sure if that means anything.

I will post pics in a sec. but WTF now both plants curled up. still green just leaves curled up under

cant really help with out any pics, i usually checc the AG section for new threads, but i have been busy lately

Ok i checked the PH = 6.0 temp = 69-80F water temp = 75F

I just put one small tablet (aerogarden nutes) in there last week. PH has stayed consistent.


The last three pix are of the plant that was leaning back for a week now it is standing up but leaves curled under


what should I do. Im thinking its over watering so I turned of the AG water pump for the last 30 mins.


What do you guys think i should do

Heat stress, only use the AG lights for now, then once there a lil bigger turn those other ones one, with all your panicking i thought i was gonna see some really horrible pics, there nice an green

oh ok im just paranoid I guess I already lost three so when I saw the leaves curled up I lost it. I guess I should roll 1 up and calm down.

ok all here are some pix. my babies are spreading out and growing much faster now that I took Sicc's advice and turned off my CFLs. temps stay 65-72F

I only gave them 1 small tablet of AG nutrients last week and will repeat tomorrow.

I ordered the Fox Farm trio since everyone has been dogging the AG nutes. I will continue to use the AG nutes until I get my Fox Farm in. I dont think Im gonna use the GROW BIG though since I dont want them to get too big for the AG. IDK we will see.

There lookin better man, the AG nutes are just fine, thats what i used and had no problem, i liked them but obvisouly, if you can get better nutes, get the better stuff. As for the BIg Grow you need to use that lol, the AG can Handel anything, plants will just about triple in size during flowering, so you just have to calculate that int how tall you want them to be, like my current plant, flowered at 4 inches, almost five, and she stopped at her current height of 13 inches

Good Info (as usual) I will prolly flower at about 7-8 inches then cause I wont be able to raise my hood any higher then the arm will go because of shelving in the closet. but since I have all these CFLs place around the plants...they might bush out. Either way I cant wait to see how it goes.
