Hey everyone. First time LED grow. I haven’t grown in years but decided to start back. I purchased an FAMURS 3000w led from Amazon for my 2x4x6 tent. The actual draw is 615w from the wall so I figured it would be comparable to a 600w HPS/MH.

FAMURS 3000W LED Grow Light,...

Was I wrong? Is it too much power for the tent? I know LED emits less heat so that’s why I went with LED and I wanted to yoeld as much as possible in that size tent so I went with the highest wattage. I can get it about maybe 3 FT above the canopy once everything gets going and I’ll have 3-4 plants in 5 gallon buckets.

Will this work or will I have bad heat issues? I do have an 4” exhaust fan running and an fresh air intake from my window. Someone please advise.

Plan on growing some White Russian from serious seeds, some Lemon ICE, and some S.A.D S1. Serious seeds send me some seriously cracked seeds but they were super nice and sent replacements out for free.

Assuming the heat from the light mostly comes off the top of the fixture you should be able to cool the tent with a good 4 inch inline fan. Does the light have dimming functions?

I use a comparable bestva "3000w", same draw. I have it in 4x4, but 3x3 more appropriate. Will be perfect for your tent. I have zero heat issues... good ventilation...

I have mine 20 inches above canopy in scrog style.... I would not put the light much higher.. I am seeing wonderful results for what I need so far. Red dragon in scrog doing great!

Probably was a wise move to switch to the lower wattage option.
Managing heat is one thing, managing light stress is another and you would of likely seen it with a limited height of 6ft and no ability to dim.

Good luck, it should grow you some solid nugs.
