The only thing he's expressing is that the Tasty is legitimately more efficient. For 78w at the wall, it puts out, as I said, 60 more micromols at 24" with slightly smaller window than the 450w, which uses about 206w at the wall. So, your choices are, either pay 60 extra dollars for a COB build that will use less energy over time for more upfront money, or pay less up front for something that's still efficient but is a little over twice as less efficient, and slightly less powerful. That's obviously up to the hobby horticulturist in question.
I kinda fucked this up. Two ViparSpectra V450s are just under the power of one COB.

So I'm at 23 days of 12/12 and I have been doing some defoliating through the canopy. I still think she looks a little sickly or Haggard. There were a few yellowing fan leaves I removed today. I also bumped the lights back up to about 20 inches from the 14 inches it was at the last week. She didnt seem to enjoy them that close. Otherwise she looks good to me. I also have some super thrive that I'll likely be adding next week. Any thoughts?

I'm running the ViparSpectra 600, have had it since August. Using it for pretty much full cycle, only other lighting used was cfl for early veg. This is 3 of 4 surviving plants, he was the youngest and weakest of them all, oh and he was the only male. Flipped lights on the Nov 13 in the morning, cycle on is at night. Small plants pic was taken Oct 28, the next was yesterday.

Just an update on my ViparSpectra 600 grow is my 4th grow ever. I am growing the same strain as my first grow, I call it Enigma because its effects are different every time one smokes it, a quick background. My first grow I yielded 14 grams from one Enigma plant with 2 68W CFL's, but I made many mistakes. My second grow was all males, so I pollen collected from the afghani and C99 males I had growing at the time. My third grow was under a cfl array I made but only pulled an ounce from them, they had pest issues and heat issues almost whole growth. this grow has been virtually issue free, and I converted from cfl to led. I am definitely noticing the power of led. With led I believe a Scrog is still the best approach.

So we are now at day 26 of 12\12 and these Enigma's all have definitive differences. The front plant on the left smells like a sweet berry, the plant on the back left smells like a sweet citrus berry, and the last plant on the back right smells like dirt and pepper. All three plants are already very frosty and sticky.

I would like to see how your plants are coming along Customcare.

Thsnks for the interest! Your plants look gorgeous 73T. Im currently at day 50 or so of flower. Shes ripening quickly but I'm not sure if the amount of yellowing is normal. I just cut her feeding a week ago and she looked great until then. I'm thinking normal ripening of the flowers but idk. Let me know what you guys think. First pic from 12/11, 2nd & 3rd pic from 12/15.

I'm assuming you have been flushing for a week, and with my limited knowledge it is my understanding that the yellowing is a apart of the flushing period where the plant starts to use up its reserve nutes and move the mobile nutrients from the fan leaves into the newer growth. The movement from the fan leaves to the new growth is what causes the yellowing I believe.

Just an observation, but based on the dates of your photos and posts, isn't your plants at day 41 of 12/12. I would think you could potentially be flushing to soon as I notice that your plant seems to still be producing a bunch of white hairs and it doesn't seem to have fattened up yet. I generally start flushing around day 60. That doesn't mean that I'm right though.

Technically you're correct. But if you look back a little earlier before I put them totally into flower. I had three that I thought were all females but it turned out to be just one female. So I switched her back to veg for about 2 weeks but I don't think it was long enough to completely revert out of the flowering stage. I really don't know enough about it to be sure but I'm thinking that could be why they're finishing weird or early? Maybe I just don't know what I'm doing and burnt the hell out of them LOL I don't know really. Also I've been putting clones into a cup of aerated, pHed water and superthrive but haven't gotten one to root in almost six weeks of trying.

I fed it a decent dose of Bloom nutes last night so I guess we'll see but I'm definitely going to let it go to term.

Definitely the right choice to feed and run longer. The amount of new pistils she's throwing makes me thinks shes got a few weeks left in her. Tomorrow will technically be 49 days flowering, applejack is supposed to go 10+. Looks great and smells super fruity. Sadly, I only got one clone to root. But hey, thats all you need right?

So I'm on day 47 of 12/12 my girls haven't produced new pistil's in almost a week. Looking at them through a jewelers scope I have found something beautiful. The stalks on the trichs are beginning to turn purple. I started flushing mine yesterday. They are almost finished I have some decent ambering but was not gonna post pics of that since the purple trichs pics were such a pain to take.

Custom, How did your girl turn out? I was looking at my girls yesterday and saw the top almost non existent new growth spots putting out bananas, so I culled them, day 56 12/12, not sure about the amount but they are some heavy wet buds, and dense as shit, once they dry out I'll get a weight per plant, and a total.
I hope your girl performed well.

Hey everyone, thanks for the interest! Especially 73T, sorry about the late update.

I ended up with just over 3 ounces dried when I cut her down. Just one of the colas was 14gr dried. Awesome producing plant. Plus or minus she flowered for about nine weeks and everything turned out amazing. Even the flarf! Super sweet and fruity. I have another project going on but haven't been taking too many pics just because I've been so busy lately.

Keep the posts up for all the LED non believers! These threads help alot of people who are just starting out. Ill be posting on the four ladies I have going when I flip them to flower.

Talk to you all soon!

Very nice, I ended up with 104g dry weight going into jars, so roughly 3.7 ounces.

Hey guys, finally have my new setup going and thought I'd share. Its a 30"x60" tent with two 300w viperspectra LED lights, 4" fan and filter, four 5 gallon buckets w/ fox farm dirt & perlite mixture at different ratios, ff trio for nutes. Plants are two bag seeds (unknown indica?) And two bubba kush. All confirmed females from seed. Total of 9 weeks veg, flipped to 12/12 on 2/1.

Hopefully pulling alot more than my last run. Any constructive comments welcome. Thsnk in advance!

LED all the way!

Ahh right. After all of that justification you've never finished flower with them. Well they're not expensive at least.
Hey BM9AGS! Just to follow up im on my 4th grow ever with and am just getting over a gram/ watt. Pretty average but I attribute that to the grower atm moment. Stay tuned for much more if your still wondering :)

Trying to understand this. You were using 2 Vipar 300w for the whole grow? Or did you add the 2nd Later on? 3oz is a nice haul.
