what would be smart for a large yield and quicker process? one plant in a 3x3 or 2 plants? i was thinking one 25 gallon smart pot would do since its 21'' in diameter and the tent is 36''. or possibly two ten gallon smart pots, can any tell me from experience which more of a producer, i remeber once some one said one large plant will give you more and bigger fruit instead on many mini size plant. im gunna be using a 300 watt ds led. also how much is expected from a 3x3 tent, im guessing a pound from a large plant?

You could use one three gallon smartpot and fill the tent. Top or fim it and lst. Your entire space would be taken up. Good Luck and Happy growing.

Hey mate, personally I would grow a couple in smaller pots. A bigger plant has the potential for a bigger yield, but a smaller plant could yield just as much. In regards to time management, regardless of the size of the plant it will take the same amount of time to mature from seed to flower. If you had smaller plants you wouldn't need to veg for as long though.

A pound? It is very possible to get a pound of a plant, however because you are using a LED I don't think you will be getting a pound. I just started my first LED grow so I can't give you feedback on potential yields yet. Also in my opinion your space is too small to grow a plant with the potential to yield a pound. Best way to utilize small grow spaces is to do SOG or SCROG grows. At the end of the day though it is up to you. Good luck and happy growing.

Peace.

A pound is very much so doable in a 3x3 tent my friend,I've seen a grower harvest a pound in a 2x3 cab under a 400w HPS,strain was Chronic,SCRoG'd.

A simple horizontal SCRoG can easily fetch you 10-12 ounces (assuming all environmental factors are dialed, the strain is dialed, everything dialed) and even a pound, all in a 3x3 tent.

I have switched from hoods and horizontal to vertical growing.First time was 5 plants all from random bagseed, grown in FFOF in 3 gallon pots in a 3x3 tent with a vertical bare bulb 400w HPS a small fan pointed up at the light and a 170cfm inline centrifugal exhaust fan right above the bulb, sucking hot air away...I have effectively increased the amount of canopy area in my 3x3 tent by doing so.Think about it...when doing a horizontal in a 3x3 tent, you are only getting a 3x3 canopy, but by going vertical you now have four 3x3 canopies,so instead of just 9sq feet of canopy you now have 36sq feet of canopy!

First run I harvested around 12oz total (including all larf) and about 10-11oz of just prime bud...had I done better training and mono-cropped (clones off the same mom) I could easily hit 14-16 given proper genetics & training,no doubt in my mind....and with a 400w HPS to boot!

Other than the fact that you pretty much quadruple your growing area just by switching vertical in the same space, you also get little-no larf, just solid buds from bottom of plant to top!

Right now I'm working on getting a window a/c and installing because summer temps in Fla get retarded...once that's done I'll be going for my second vert grow in the 3x3 tent and hopefully do the same as the first time (with less/no larf) or better...still trying to decide which plant will do best though,it's down to two of moms from last round.

As far as doing a pound with an LED...I just don't see it happening, they just don't have enough intensity/penetration,nor decent light spread.

thanks for all your opinions. i just got my led panels in today so i guess im almost there. so how much would you expect from theses 3oo watt led's? and also how many 3 gallon pots should i use? i got 3 of them an one 20 gallon, tomorrow i will be going to the Nursery so i will need to decide by tomorrow, i think im gonna have to go with the one plant operation due to my permission status in my home but well see. also is there any thing i should add in the soil in particular? im getting fox farm ocean forest and light warroir, i noticed that the ocean forest is ph'd around 6.2-6.8 and i know that my plant will be thriving in 6.0-6.2

You could grow one or three, or twelve... that doesn't matter. What does matter is how you use the light to evenly cover the canopy. SCROG it. 1gpw is almost 10oz, use this as a trial run and expect half of that. You shouldn't need anything bigger than a 3gal(soil/coco)/5gal(hydro) for that size tent.

Unless you have experience, never expect a pound... especially not with 275w.

You would have to scrog because with the 3W LED's you're just not getting the penetration needed for a huge plant. Is that 300 LED watts or at the plug? Since you have a single panel I would suggest a scrog or a type of sog to keep the plants short so you can take advantage of the light penetration. Without going scrog though maybe some LST etc but you need to dial down those expectations big time.

I’m doing one ak47 in a 3x3. It’s I’m at 9 weeks and only 40% max fill. Organic soil so it’s extra slow. I wouldn’t recommend just 1.
