I've had some custom hard strips with the LM561C chips designed and now in production in China. They will be 400 x 30 mm, roughly 16.5" x 1.25". Double rows of 48 diodes, 22-24v at 2 amps max, constant current on rigid aluminum PCBs. A "quantum strip" is the idea. Ordered some samples in the S6 bin 4000K 90 CRI selection, will report back in a couple of weeks after testing, if anyone is interested. If all goes well I expect to have them available also in 3000K and 5000K, and 800mm lengths.
SolStrip samples have arrived. So far, testing well. Highest diode density of any LM561 strip or board around, 1.25 cm2 per diode. But the real value is their flexibility in DIY builds - choose the density and arrangement that I need for the space I want to light.

Three to five of these fit nicely in a half-size commercial baking sheet. I'm working on a design based on the baking sheets - best aluminum sheet value out there, and the 1 inch rim makes an effective reflector for redirecting stray photons.

Cheap-o lux meter gives 8980 lux at 12" on one strip at 24v, 2A. Almost 19,000 lux at 12" on the 3-strip sheet at 24v, 6A.

Price will depend on the order quantity. The manufacturer only deals in volume. But I expect it to be very competitive with the other high quality mid-power LED PCBs out there, even more in volume (10+ pieces).

Authenticity is confirmed, here's the chip lot package label. The breakdown of the bar code can be found in the Samsung spec sheet HERE:

will have some photo updates on the strips

at first i was leary of them..due to not really high readings

but it seems that because strips are not grouped tightly together its
happens.

what i am noticing is theyare growing plants well and do NOT need a heat sink if there is even a modest fan in the room..2mm aluminum may be helping

they cover 16 sq ft very well....and can be dropped very close to the plants

i also think they will flower well..but i am only testing flowering on the 6 x 22" panels right now

ok it time to use that first suckah to flower with..the 15 strips in a 3 x 4 frame

they vegged well... even cramming the plants together still made branching

i have one set up with the six 6"x 22" panels in a 3 x 4 frame..will see how they each cpmare at 600w each

i will try to get the new 2 x 4ft x15 strip frame running..prob just go 320 w...since i ran out of 600 w drivers

on another note ..here is a bit of info

yes you CAN run these 600 watt drivers on flip panels.....damn am i saving dough on drivers if i use two rooms

so by next week..this light will be competing against the 6 x 6" x 22"..panels @ 600 w15 strip 3ft x 4ft.jpg

Such a great idea to have them on one driver. How are you flipping them?
I'd like to find a way to use one driver between three lights 8 hours each

i have flip panels..its only dc

re your idea: i am too old to think that intense..i actually tried then felt heat comingn out of the

top of my skull and no answer

a flip relay is an either one side or the other deal..oops my brain needs a 20" fan on it..i gotta stop

You would need 2 relays. The first one is set to 8 and 16 hours. The 16 hour side is followed by a second relay also to 8 and 16 hours. The second relay set to 16 hours would use the 8 hours that the first relay is on plus half of the 16 hours the second relay is on.
