ah, so the tubes are open space the led light is in the tent.

well ok, that doesnt make the CFL more intense or effective.
according the the measurement from the last page there wont be much more then 100ppfd a inch away, that will always grow you, slow and a bit lanky, but healthy plants (i made some tests in this regard).
even its 54w, its also twice the lengh and you will have problems in the open space focusing the photons on your plants.

An inch away I read 18000 Lux. T5 produces fine plants for mothers, not lanky and stalks plenty thick. I can keep 4 mothers and get 60 cuts easily every 2 weeks. If I can accomplish that using the Led at 200 watts I’d be happy. I believe I should be able to. New tents. Ok’ing this week so I’ll test different tent, more height at 50% power and see what fly hat does.

maybe helpfull to get idea of the PAR/PPFD.
this guy is comparing CFL to LED CFL replacement bulbs.
even the replacement bulbs arent as efficient as your timber light is, its still easily 2 times the light output he masured compared to the CFL.
he is of course just 2 using 2 bulbs and is using 6500k.

So they got back and said it does look like light intensity. I will raise the lights higher and keep it on 50% next run. Even at 18 inches and 50% I wouldn't have thought it would be too much, we will see.

I hate draining my saucers after watering. That's a very nice system you put together. Saves the back on the daily. Free lumber makes it all the better. I'm always afraid to ask how much those trays cost at the hydro shop. That seems like a great price and you'll have them forever. Sometimes the best upgrades are ones that just make the day to day drudge work easier ;)
I just bought 8 of the plant elevators to keep them out of the runoff. Only about $2.50 ea at my local grow shop. Well worth it if you have some nets up and getting to that drain water is almost impossible.
