This may sound like a pointless question, but did you also accidentally buy potting mix instead of soil? That would be convenient, and it's a very common mistake.

If you decide to use the jack's hydroponic in a hydro medium, you will also need to buy calcium nitrate (I recommend yara brand since it's the same as jack's calcium nitrate, but 1/4 the price).

If it's a peat moss based potting mix, that's actually a hydroponic medium. If it's miracle grow, they will have fortified it with nutrients, but after they run out, it's a hydroponic medium.

You can basically treat peat moss based potting mix similar to coco. (nutrients with every watering). What makes something a soil is clay and silt.

I have the calcium nitrate as well. So I can use this in my potting mix?

I seed in promix potting mix.
After sexing for females, wash roots and transplant in Hydro system using turface.
The same Jacks Hydroponic/Cal Nitrate ratio of 2 to 1 at an EC of 1.2 is used for the plants life.
No flushes. No issues.

Besides Yara brand Cal NItrate; Southern Ag also has an offering.

i use jack's tomato feED in soil with tap water and it crushes.
works out to the same nutrient profile as the hydro and calinit.

most feed and farm stores will have calcium nitrate for dirt cheap,
and since it's the off-season they might even be having a sale.
