5000btu vs 2 1k hps

I've read enough that I know this is under rated for the this setup, especially when in a sealed room with a dehumidifier. But

My question is if I'm in 9x11 sealed room, with co2 enrichment, would the ac bring me down to 80F-85F. I'm under the assumption you can have much higher temps with co2 enrichment, so wouldn't that lower the btu's needed to cool? I would prefer it to just run the whole 12 hr on cycle, and turning on and off with the dehumidifier at night.

It would be running close. I have a 10k btu in a 10 x 10 sealed room. I run it at about 83F. When the old unit went out, I borrowed a 5k unit and limped along with it for about a week. Running full blast it kept it below 85F with 90F outdoor temps. I run mine 24 hrs though. It's hard on one of those units powering on and off all the time, or at least that's what I've been led to believe. That dehumidifier is going to put out some heat also.

Thanks for the reply. What lights are you running in your 10x10? Sounds like this may work out for me.

I don't mind buying a 10,000btu ac if it will work as I need. I'm concerned if I get a higher btu a/c then It will be running on and off on short cycles and burn it out after a few runs.
I was given the 5000btu for free and it works well.

I'm running 2 1k hps. I started out with a used unit which lasted me 3 years. Bought a new one last Spring and I've had no problems.. I got mine refurbished on Amazon for around $220.00. If it were me, I would try using the 5k, but I would go ahead and order a backup. In a room that large you're going to lose a lot of product and money if that unit goes out or doesn't perform well. I've learned that in this business it never pays to be "penny wise and pound foolish". I have backups for all essential equipment.

Solid advice! Thank you. I feel the same way, my biggest nightmare is trying to installing a new ac in week 7-9. You know that's when it will die or won't keep up anymore lol.

How many btu's are you running?

I'm running 10k btu in that room and 12k in a 12 x 10 room that contains a 5 x 5 tent with 1k hps and 2 84" x 30" veg tables. That room is not sealed and the 12k helps cool an adjacent veg area...but not completely. The 12 x 10 isn't given supplemental Co2 and is kept at 74F
