will 500mA produce enough intensity in a 36V vero?

Put a PAR meter in there and check.....What is lux reading ?

footprint is 450mm x 850mm x 1000 height,

im considering going from 6 cobs @ 700mA to 8 cobs @ 500mA - increase speead and efficiency, (money not a problem)

Well, without being exact you will be gaining efficiency and dropping wattage a bit so the end result will be about the same. The extra emitters will be helpful but I wouldn't expect it to make a lot of difference at harvest time. I would recommend retaining the ability to run at 700ma and add the two extra emitters. That way you have 200w to work with and can dim down if the light is too intense, but you may find that 200w in flower is fine.

thanks Rhaz, I think 150W is enough, its ~ 33w/sq ft.
