50x Homegrown in Cube Tent

Hello everyone at the RIU community. I'm new to this site, but have been a huge fan of Mary Jane for a long time.
Not wasting too much time saying hello. So, here's what I'm doing for this grow.
My last grow had light leakage issues and long story short I was blessed with slight herme females and got a bunch of free beans. I'm germinating as many as I need to bring my sprout count to 50.
The genetics, since I'm sure everyone is wondering, why do herme homegrown? They are as follows: CBD Kush Supreme; Blue Mystic; and Swiss Cheese.
Moving along, the grow setup I'm currently using is a 6 1/2' Grow Tent cube, and two 4' two bulb t12 shop lights for starting sprouts. My soil mix is even parts Moo Start germinating mix and Happy Frog basic soil. My starting containers are 32 oz. clear cylinders to track root growth. They will be transplanted twice. Once when they reach their juvenile stage before the vegging burst. Then once again after they have been sexed and the males have been removed.
I need to order 4 led panels so I can use them once they've passed the sprout stage.
I'm not a fan of fertilizing much so I only use a bit of Super Thrive for root development early on and then I will be doing periodical root washings with molasses in water.
I hope people are interested and sub so I have some peeps along for the ride.20170114_132541.jpg

Time for an update.
So day 4 of germination and I have 16/50 beans popped and planted into dirt. Set up another 50 seeds to germinate as back ups. Just in case beans don't pop or sprouts don't sprout.
Think I'm going to pass on LED panels this time due to budget constraints and give the 600w MH/HPS setup a good dusting off.
Until I have pics of all 50 babies sprouted and growing I'll just post a couple nuggets from the last harvest.

Unfortunately had to dump a jar of CBD Kush......Mold and rot. Too wet when I jarred it up. Sucks too cuz it smelled like apple pie.

Alrighty. Monday noontime update. After nine days of germinating seeds I currently have 45/50 seeds sprouted and planted in dirt. 20 something of them have breached top soil and are now growing. I'm germinating a fresh 10 seeds I've been picking from buds while I smoke. The other ones were getting past their viable window of healthy sprouts.
Couple of pics of the sprouts so far. I'll call day one of the grow official once all 50 sprouts are up and growing.

So Friday morning, and the count is up to 49 sprouts in soil. A couple got mucked up so I had to replace them. Got 5 last seeds germing. Been tilling my soil from last grow. I really hope all the plant matter is broken down before I start using it.
The way I set up my dirt so I can get multiple runs from it is I take the root balls, the trimmed fan leaves, and all the leftover stalks and let them decompose back into the soil replenishing some nutrients.
Can't wait til these babies start really growing. Still need a new length of ducting, a set of hangers for my 600w so I can run it with both of the four footers. Also need a few clip fans for movement. Was using a 16" oscillator, but I want more controllable air flow this time.
A few baby pics for now.....

Hey, been a while since I've updated this. Seems like the RIU is working again for the most part so I'll try to show what I can.
So since the last update, the plants have begun to flower. Naturally since they came from herme seeds I did have some male preflowers show up but I've been pinching everyone I find before they have a chance to open up and release pollen.
Out of all the seeds I germinated and having to cull some weak and overly hermed plants, I am left with 29 flowering. 14 in 2-2.5 gallon buckets, and 15 in 4-5 gallon buckets.
Now for pics. They're about one full week into flowering right now.

Are these pics of only 1 week into flower?
Is that including around 2 weeks for the flowers to show?
Or a week since you switched to 12/12?
Look great by the way☺

Those are about 10 days from switching to 12/12. They sexed fairly quick which was nice. I'm going to post an update after answering this question.

So were now into the beginning of week 3 into full flower and things are looking yummier by the day.
20170418_082044.jpg This is one of a few sativa doms.20170418_082128.jpg
This is the tallest of the lot. Very nice crystallization so far.

Kind of tough to get a picture of all the girls at once, but I try.
Recently got a nice size dehumidifier. Was wondering why I keep getting fucking jungle conditions but going back to basic plant biology I forgot about transpiration. Since I have 29 girls I'm losing a ton of moisture into the air from them transpiring. Definitely going to dial back my total plant count and just work on topping multiple times and LST. Since I'm mainly growing for my head, the next run time won't be as bad a factor. Hence why I'd like to try and get a more sativa dom strain.

Well I think this'll be my last update on RIU. Seems too hard to get people interested...People have a few threads they follow and everyone else gets kind of ignored. Seen too many threads where it's only the person who created the thread posting time and again. Doesn't really offer people motivation to share their hard work and ask questions to get answers about.

That's quite the jungle you got going on in there! What all are you using to light them up with?

I don't bother updating my journal much either for the same reasons.

I got something similar going on in my grow room. I started 76 seeds in a big flat then transplanted them when they were about 6 - 8" tall into 8 - 2gal pots with around 4 - 7 plants per pot. After weeding out males and runts I have 27 plants left that are 33 days from the flip. Have 6 larger pots with 5 OG18 and 1 Purple Kush. Just got done pollinating a branch or two on a bunch of them with pollen from two really high CBD males. Otto#1 that's supposed to be only 1%THC and 10 - 27% CBD. Love that CBD for the arthritis.

My setup is jammed in tight to make it all work under a 1000W HPS on a light rail. Time to get around to putting in that 8x4 addition I've been meaning to build. :)

Good luck with yours!

It is a bit of a jungle at times. This is the last run of this equipment. I have 2 shop lights with red spectrum T12's and a 600w HPS cool tube with XL reflector. My tent could use about 2000w but the heat would kill them, so I'm technically running under half the possible need at a mere 760w total. But as you can see the buds are still setting nice even with less than optimum lighting.
I'm going all LED after this. And going from a 6.5' s 6.5' to three smaller tents to gain perpetual harvests.

Hell man, don't quit. Im sub'd. This is pretty cool. Looking forward to how you solve the usual suspects as the grow progresses. Stay. Post up. I'm in.

Thanks for the sub. I'll post pix my next day off from work. Have to move some of the girls around. Took 9 early to save from buying smoke. Still got 20 going.
As far as 'usual suspects' I got a dehumidifier for my astronomical transpiration. Got the a/c running so my temps are 68dark and 77-79light.
Only real problems I've got are crowding, even after taking 9 plants out. That and I've had aphids the whole grow cuz the assholes at the hydro store have dirt with aphids. Aphids are the only real problem I can't deal with.
I don't have a wash for aphids and this far into the grow it'd be too hard to really eradicate them. Just been using fly papers.
They are really nice considering less than optimum lighting, and having aphids snacking the whole time.
Been looking at new strains to buy for my next grow, since these are messy herms. Not so much male dominant, just I can't pin down what crossed with what. I can tell the cheese passed on sativa dominant genes, the mystic came through about the same, and the haze came through with less foliage around the buds. It's just too messy for me to want to keep the genetics.
I want to become a breeder so I want to start working at making solid hybrids or refining a certain strain.

Alrighty. Update time. So the girls are all really top heavy so I've begun to string them to my support poles to help keep them upright until harvest. Ordering a loupe later today to start checking trichs. Few tent shots for now.20170507_102011.jpg 20170507_102031.jpg 20170507_102211.jpg

Grow abandoned. Cut down today. Aphids were just too bad and killed all my anchor roots. Have to sterilize the room over the next month trying to get everything ready for the next round. Got some nice medicine to hold me over though. Word to the wise, never ever let aphids take hold of your grow room, it can completely stop everything from flowing how it should.
