6 week flowering strains

Up until now ive been growing haze in my 3x2 closet under a 1000hps with much success. However im tired of the long grow cycle, sometimes reaching 4-5 months for a grow:o. So ive decided to try a SOG with some 6 indica's in the 3x2. Ive been doing some research and ive found some that flower in 6 weeks time. I could veg these for 3 weeks and then flower for 6, allowing for a 2 month grow cycle:clap:. That means 6 harvests a year:-P. I would need a harvest of around 240g, or 40g a plant. Heres the strain im thinking of using http://www.cannabis-seeds-bank.co.uk/g13-labs-gigabud-feminized-4833-p.asp So what do you guys think, is this realistic, could i perhaps see harvest that are great then 240g every other month :leaf:

well i use seeds, not clones so i dont have to worry about rooting clones. I'll be germinating the next batch of seeds while the last grow is finishing:-o. once the root has broken through ill put em in some dirt and under a CFL until they break the soil. Ill time it so that this happens at the same time that the last grow is chopped.
I'll probably start the seeds when the current grow is in week 4, giving it 2 weeks just to be sure there is enough time. In case they get a little to big for the cfl i have a back up 400hps i can put em under if i have to

Are you using your grow room area to the max? Tryin to grow and flower that early may work effeciantly but I would use all the height i have if i was you, i think letting your plants reach greater growth and yeild more outweighs having less patience

I think a 3 week veg time for a SOG is too long and you will have a crowded crop with a bunch of wispy lower buds.

But you were prolly thinking you could do a SOG from Seed...

Yes i was thinking that you can do a SOG with seeds, i dont see the difference between starting with a clone of a seed, its all the same genetics.
As for growing a taller plant, imo there is no point in growing a plant taller then 3', any taller is just a waste of time, the light wont hit the lower buds. Ive grown a number of hazes and can tell you from exp there is usually a foot or two at the bottom that is useless and is stripped off.

Oh i didnt realize your using the sog method. But yeah, you need clones man, sog isnt really much of a sog without clones because clones give you the maturity advantage that seedlings dont have, and they cant flower as soon.

hmmm well i guess it wont be a sog then. Im just going to be putting a large amount of plants in a small area and harvesting them in a short grow cycle....where my roll eyes smiley?
If the seeds dont grow uniform plants, then it means the seeds are less then steller frankly. I can overcome any difference in height by tying down the taller plants until they are the same size...

hey stoner, what do you mean stripped off? I have seen where the top colas are harvested, the lower ones left for another 2 weeks to ripen or throw the plant back into veg and regenerate her and get her ready for another flowering session at the salon. man, we leaves those lower ones until they are almost all amber and is a good little stash for some sleep for 2 days stone. \saynottodrugs is correct with the maturity. you will see after you take your clones. the growth rate after rooting is prob doubled that of seed. the drawback is most of the time the nodes continue to grow out alternating which can make topping difficult.

most growers strip the lower nodes so that the plant concentrates its energy on the upper buds.
Clones are alright, but i dont have a mother plant so i have to use seeds. Im going to veg for 21 days and flower for 42 days (strain says 6 weeks) by harvesting every other month with 6 plants i only need 40g per plant, which i think is more then achievable under a 1000hps. would u agree?

I stand firmly against force flowering plants early.

A seedling that is not sexually mature and is put in flower will never preform as well as a mature clone.

Its because a plant from seed that is still in the early levels of veg does not have the hormones it needs for flowering. It will not have correct levels until it reaches maturity. And only then will it be able to flower at its full capacity.

You will know a plant has reached sexual maturity when it shows preflowers.

Anything flowered before then will preform sub par.

And people do it all the time.....

I was wondering something... Why not start your seeds a few weeks earlier and that would make your veg time earlier. That way you are ready to hit the ground running with a new crop earlier. Instead of 6 crops a year, you would end up with 8...
