Its not going to be a start to finish grow journal or anything. But i thought id show off my brothers CFL grow. Theres 4x 125watt 6500K and 4x 28watt 5000k. Its got some lowryder and Hindu Kush in it at the moment. Heres some picies. Hopefully my brother might come say hey. There are 4 fans. 2 in and 2 out. What do you guys think of it? Any suggestions. I did recommend he gets a fan to blow over the lights and plants.

Forgot to mention. Im using this grow box atm with my Hindu Kush. Oh wait i did.

Looks good, but the babies, are really light green. What kinda soil? You are right about fan!

Looks good, let us know how it turns out!

Thanks :) Yates seedling mix. It had trace nutrients in it and i thought id give it a try. Seems like they dont like it at all. Normally i just used cheaper seedling mix without any added ferts.

i would go with soil that doesn't have any fertz in it. I had this problem where every time I got a seed sprouted it would die. Turns out I'm retarded and didn't realize that the soil I was using can premixed with nutes. I was killing them before they even had a chance at life...it was a shame really.

Ye i did realise there would be a risk knowing cannabis doesnt need shit all nutes as a seedling. But it was clearly seedling mix and figure id take a chance and see if it was better. Well its not better. Like everyone says time release soil is crap.

That's a lot of light man, looks good. I'd also tell your brother to make some reflectorrs for those 125w bulbs, he's wasting a lot of light right now...

yeah get some reflectors above those babies for sure, cool set up though

Duece.
Iv thought over this and i told my brother what i thought. We came to a conclusion that it causes more heat than more light using them with cfls. The board the lights are on is painted white for reflection and there seems to be plenty of light for plants from seedling to 10-15 inches. Thanks for the input but bro.

Thanks man. We spoke about it but didnt feel it was necessary. What kind of reflectors did you have in mind? the cone shaped ones are to small for this kind of setup. I was thinking mylar might be good to line the board. But in reality how many more lumens are you going to get...

I would either line the top with mylar
or
take some beer/soda cans, cut off the tops and bottoms, cut down the side of the can and open it up so you have a reflective rectangle that you can then bend to shape...

you're unravelling it, basically... cut down the side and you'll end up with a rectangle that's like 7 and a half inches long and 3.5 inches wide.
