~750 watts CFL, 3000 watts HID

I just wanted to share

In the pictured flower room I have 2 1000 watt 6'' Cool Tubes with HPS Plant Max bulbs, and 15 23-27 watt CFL bulbs, in 2700k. The in-construction Veg Room, for the little ones not pictured in these photos, will eventually have a 1000 watt 8" MH Plant Max Cool Tube, but since there are only 15 plants, no higher than 2 feet (and I finish at 6', after tying at least once), there are only 18 23-27 watt CFLs, mostly in 5000k. I've had great success with the CFLs added to the HIDs; there has been no stretching, except in the sativas (like the Lemon Ice pictured near the intake fans on the Cool Tube). I'm tying the plants that stretched so that nobody's higher than 3' when I start flowering in a week. I know, I'll probably have a jungle in late flower and I might have to go to great lengths to prevent burning, but I've got 6' ceilings sloping up to 7', and an 8' by 10' square footage to work with, so I'm hoping its just enough.

I repotted to 10 gallons this week, so what you see is their 5 gallon state; they were almost completely root bound after going from (I kid you not) 1 quart pots 3.5 weeks before today. So in 3.5 weeks, they went from being root bound in 1 quart pots to being root bound in 5 gallon (20 quart) pots! The foliage easily tripled in size (nodes, length, leaf size, etc.). I think it's the Super Thrive, Flora Blend and Mexican Bat Guano, plus the fact that they went from being under just the CFLs a month ago the having 2000 watts of HPS, plus the same CFLs. The plants are about 2.5 months old and I'm starting flowering in the next 48 hours with an Indonesian Bat Guano boost, a heavier Molasses application, regular foliar application of Ginormous (I'm on a budget and I couldn't afford Big Ups or Bud Blood; hopefully Ginormous will work to boost the transition), and heavier Flora Blend application.

Strains:

(some plants not pictured)

Lemon Ice x2 2.5 months
Lemon Skunk x2 2.5 months
Pure Afghani x3 2.5 months
White Widow x2 2.5 months
Bubba Kush x3 2.5 months
AK-47 x4 1 month
Sour Diesel x2 .5 month
Choc Chunk x1 seedling
Agent Orange x1 seedling
Chem Dawg x3 seedling
Jilly Bean x1 seedling
Sour Diesel x1 seedling

Comments or questions are welcomed; I may not be back on for a few days.

I have 5 caregiver assignments for patients I have an active caregiving relationship with. So I'm technically under my plant-count right now  I will never go beyond 30.

Blessings!

Obviously, this isn't strictly CFL, nor are the majority of lumens coming from the CFLs, but without those bright little bulbs, my plants would be stretchy monsters; one of the Sativas pictured is a bit lanky, but she's being tied. CFLs are awesome and I vegged these plants for two months before I could afford the HIDs (although they've quadrupled in size since I've added the HIDs) :) If you're using HPS at any stage of growth, using 5000k or bright CFLs will keep your plants tight, bushy, and VIGOROUS.
