Dec 26 2010, 11:23 AM - Order Placed
Dec 27 2010, morning - Received tracking number email
Dec 30 2010, afternoon - Recieved "order dispatched" email
Jan 03 2011, afternoon - Royal Mail says package was dropped at post office

I will continue to update this post as time goes on.

I didn't get the guaranteed shipping or "cool mug"/t-shirt this time because for one, all the seeds the first time were in the tins, and secondly, I saw a lot of posts were people who didn't get the guaranteed shipping had no problems. I wish I had sprung for the guaranteed shipping after all though.

I was thinking about it, and I realized that a person could really be taken to the cleaners if they don't pay for guaranteed shipping. I say this because what's stopping them from simply sending you an "order dispatched" email and never sending anything at all? When you never get your package, all they have to say is, "We sent it, not our problem the mail "lost" it. Too bad for you." I'm not saying they'd do this and they probably wouldn't be in business long if they did, but it would be pretty easy for them to do.

I, like most people, was under the impression that if you pay for the guarantee and Customs gets your seeds they'll resend. WRONG. The guarantee only covers you if you never get anything at all. This means that if you don't get the guarantee, then they really don't have to ship anything and there's not a thing you could do about it.

Maybe they won't be as good as F1 seeds, but I plan to breed a shitload of my own seeds so I don't have to go through this again for a LONG time.

Dec 31 2010, evening - Still no information available on Royal Mail site.

I will continue to update this post as time goes on.

As you can see, the Royal Mail site updated only hours after I recieved the "order dispatched" email for my first order. This time, it's been over a whole day and still nothing on the Royal Mail site. I didn't get the guaranteed shipping or "cool mug"/t-shirt this time because for one, all the seeds the first time were in the tins, and secondly, I saw a lot of posts were people who didn't get the guaranteed shipping had no problems. i like their guarantee shipping, it always gets in.
as far as im concerned with it i get what i pay for. but i think if u build up a good order history with them you dont need the guaranteed shipping as much

As bad, or worse, as the extended warranties you get at best buy type stores when buying electronics, imo.
yeah for real. i bought a nintendo wii game for my nephew this christmas and they asked if i wanted a $15 one year warranty...and not for scratches or a broken disc...for manufacturer defects...how much bullshit is that?

If it's defective they will take it back anyway. Thats the one way you can get around their bs no electronic return policy.

So basically you're saying that a place isn't going to rip you off if they think it might effect their ability to make future profit from you?

"This guy probably won't be back again so fuck 'em"

Isn't that the logic crack dealers use when they sell deodorant to strangers on the street corner?

yeah that logic is crazy.

the guaranteed shipping is for your order getting lost, seized or damaged in route. they cant fake a shipment and give you a bullshit tracking number..

The guarantee is only if you don't get anything at all. It doesn't cover seizures or damage. At least that's what I've gathered. A guy on here got his seeds siezed and they told him "You still got the package, it's not our fault your government took the seeds out of it". As far as damage, that's what the "crush proof tins" are for.

I'm not trying to bash these guys, I'm just sayin'.

Ted Nelson, Customer: But why do they put a guarantee on the box?

Tommy: Because they know all they sold ya was a guaranteed piece of shit. That's all it is, isn't it? Hey, if you want me to take a dump in a box and mark it guaranteed, I will. I got spare time. But for now, for your customer's sake, for your daughter's sake, ya might wanna think about buying a quality product from me.

wow seriously??? if my package gets seized because their stealth shipping wasnt good enough their guarantee doesnt cover that??? whats the point of the guarantee then? single seed center's guarantee covers everything...and its only $5...

didnt always have crush proof tins. used to use dvd cases and ive had crushed seeds before with the dvd cases.

Yeah. I wasted my money on the "guarantee" once, then I read the fine print and decided it didn't cover a whole lot. Basically it covers if someone from the post office loses your beans, or someone steals it. That's it.

nope it aint update in 2wks
I'd call and nicely but firmly tell them to get that package moving or resend it. It might be pushing things a bit, but I'd ask for some free seeds while you're at it.

Now that I think about it though, I read somewhere (either in this thread or on another site) that packages over 500 grams have to be sent by boat due to new Homeland Security regulations. Did you get the "cool mug in box" option? If so, that probably put it over the 500 gram limit. Then again, I got the mug back in Nov and it was flown over, so that really doesn't make sense.

Either way I'd call.
