I have no experience with autos but I've read that pot size has an influence on finishing times . Smaller pot quicker finish . Any truth to that ?
Yes some quick cash crop guys rootbound em on purpose and grow sog style it speeds em up a tiny bit costs yield tho and these guys will usually cut 2 to 3 weeks early vs what we would cos its for money after all but yes theres truth to it and some photo strains and most semi auto strains flower when rootbound as well

I have a strain of gelato taking 6 weeks.

Problem is though, as frosty and sticky and aromatic as the buds are they're the size of peas. So it yields shit.
Never seen anything like it before.

The odd thing is though, the first grow with it I pulled 30oz off a single plant scrog and the buds were like grapes, which is still the smallest buds I'd seen in my growing life, I looked at it with despair, thinking I'd be lucky to pull 10-12 oz , but all in it got me to a fraction over 30 and I was happy as a pig in shit.

But every round since has been tiny tiny tiny buds that seem to totally miss the growth stage and jump right to maturity.

It really is the weirdest thing I've ever seen.
They're all from the same clone under the same light, same nutrients.. it's bizarre.

Currently I'm waiting on lots of clones rooting, to try and SOG it, one last ditch effort to see if I can't get something worth continuing it, because people love it , its like rocks and it finishes 4 weeks before anything I grow.

Edit. And I mean 6 weeks from changing light cycle
If the bud had turned shit id defo think viroid but if it smokes good yet just yields shit idk its one id watch closely anyway sounds good for the speed factor tho that is fast maybe one to breed with if its clean minus the fact theres enough gelato stuff out there already lol besides that it sounds like it has potential bud

Fastest I ever had was a small Royal Creamatic finish in 65 days yet allegedly it's a 12 to 13 week strain. It's like it only vegged for a couple weeks then went straight to flower in a five gallon fabric bag. The northern lights, also Royal Queen seeds, was in the pot next to it and that went for the regular 97 days that the others I grew before went. I'm trying the Royal Creamatic again this time in a 3 gallon fabric pot. I sort of didn't read the whole description when I ordered the seeds and didn't realize they are a smaller plant bred for SOG anyway but oh well, I got a smoking good deal from RQS from the new years sale!
