Hi guys. Nooobie to the forums.
So way back when I grew a coupla afg kush fems in a cardboard box under a couple of enviros and used wired PC fans for intake/outtake and at the time I thought it was a work of art and managed over the course of two grows to get myself a nice wee smoke.
However older and wiser I realise what an absolute deathtrap this thing was stuck together with duct tape, wires running outside the box, two enviros bowing the the structure of an old cardboard box, an accident waiting to burn down my parents house. Stupid!
Well me and the lady have purchased our first home and I would like to grow again albeit not in a cardboard box of doom.
So I've got it down to a few things.
*I'm scared to death of a fire.
*315wcmh or equivalent led? Heat?
*1-2 plants in a potential tent purchase 80cmx80cmx160cm?
*im organic soil and nutes.
I fancy the sun systems cmh but worried about heat and I am in a country where shipping for a timbergrow cob x4 frame would be more than I'm will to pay.
I have looked at a viparspectra 600w reflector series but weary about Chinese and fire ><
I will be out taking with a rvk and cb filter, passive intake was the idea as I want minimize anything that could fail and cause a fire.
I will be buying an auto fire extinguisher for inside the tent if it be a tent but if I bought a cmh setup what of the ballast? I haven't a clue how to fit an arc breaker either.
Did I mention fire?
Quandry indeed folks. Red pill my ass.
Regards.
Phil.
PS, the killer cardboard box produced a stellar smoke :/ risk Vs reward, I'm a bad man.

What was the question?

If you have room go a 4 x 4 x 7 (ft) I think thats 1200 x 1200 x 2100 ish. Its just a nice mid size tent. Gives you a little bit of working space, some head room for filter, etc and its a good size for a 600W MH/HPS if you choose to go down that route. Also gives you some options on what type of growing you want to do as well as some buffer for heating/cooling problems.

Quality power boards with surge protectors are a must as are quality extension cords ect that are rated above what your doing. Maybe sit your ballast on a concrete paver or in a steel wheelbarrow for extra fire protection?
