900w LED Grow 3xOG 1x Gorilla Glue #4

Hello everyone, and welcome to my first grow journal here at RIU.

I've been growing for about 7 years now, first as a patient in California, and now for recreation in Oregon. I've been following LED technology for about 3 years or so. After reaching a plateau of 8 oz per harvest with my old 400w HID set up, I finally decided to see what all of the LED hype was about.

The Strains: 3 clones of OG and one of Gorilla Glue #4. All planted in 4 gallon RootTrapper air pots.

The Environment: Simple closet set up... One wall mounted fan, one smaller clip fan, and a scrog screen with inner dimensions of roughly 18x32" using jute twine for the grid. With the addition of some moderate FIM'ing.

The Light: After much debate I decided to go with the ViparSpectra 900w Reflector Series LED panel. There were two different 900w models, and I decided to go with the older model as the design fits my ScrOG perfectly. The light uses 180 x 5w LED's, and from the various reviews I've read, draws around 425-450w at the wall. My hopes are, with this light is that I'll be able to double the yield of my old HPS set up.

The Soil: It's an organic super soil from Better Urban Dirt, funny enough with the acronym of B.U.D. They're a company based out of Salem, OR, and I must say it's pretty awesome stuff! They have a few different lines of soil, I go with the premium and it sometimes, can be a little hot for clones, though, whenever I've cloned directly into the soil, I've had a 100% success rate, and the plants loved it. The only thing that gets added is some washed white sand to keep the top layer of soil more dry than the rest, which helps to prevent those pesky little fungus gnats from taking a liking to the soil.

Nutrients: None, LOL! Just good 'ol organic, un-sulfured molasses to keep those microbes nice and happy!

IMG_20160602_155232408.jpg Here they are after the first week of veg, and stacking up nodes something fierce! Their shape (due to the FIM) combined with the white sand, almost makes one think that you could be chillin' on a beach with some palm trees. lol!

So, noticing I was running out of space, I decided to push them up into the screen, do a little lollipoping, and start flowering.

And here we are today, at just under three weeks of flower. And these girls are looking gorgeous! The first solo shot is is one of the GG #4 tops with the light on, and the second is one of the OG tops sans the light :)

Very similar to yours! Just a simple closet grow right now, I'm not sure what tent I want yet because I might move here shortly.
Here is my lettuce grow, you can kinda see my girls in the background :)

Looking good! I've never considered putting veggies in my grow room. Then again, there's not really any room to do so, lol!

As far as a tent, you can always just build a DIY one in whatever room you'd like with a little wood, some panda plastic and zipper. :)

Damn nice looking plants! I also went with the 900w viparspectra (but the other version) and I'm loving it so far! Excited to see your results!

Thank you!

I'm pretty darn excited over here too! lol

Do you have a journal of your ladies? In seeking others fair with brand. Though, viparspecta is on the cheaper end of the led spectrum, the technology is solid.
