Well,to start off,I guess I have to say:Yes I know their cheap, yes I know I should of gotten pricier lights, and yes I know there is a high probability that they will in the end produce poor quality buds.I will be buying higher quality lights down the road.

SO,having said all that, hopefully we can avoid all the useless negative trash talking that commonly accurs in these led threads.I just want to grow and have fun doing it.I dont need the best equipment to have fun.I'm more into outdoor anywho.Loves me some sun.But now on to the setup

10 x 90w ufo led(ebay)

19 plants(mixed strains,unknown sex)master kush,lsd x white rhino,og kush xwr,and white rhino.I have 11 more feminized strains that I will be adding over the next year.

fans will be added soon.nothing crazy, these are led's we're talkin about

I will most likely just buy some nutrients from fox farm or advance nut's.if anyone has any major preference please let me know.havent used any big name nute companies yet. This will be a perpetual "soil" grow.1 month cycles.hoping for around an ounce per plant.Running 16 or so plants per cycle.

Plants are about 1 month old right now from seed.Looking very healthy.I will be transplanting them into 3-5 gallon pots here today or tomorrow.making soil from peat moss, perlite, and vermicullite.

Thats pretty much it for now.lol.will be postin pics soon.need time to upload and all that jazz.Just wanted to get this thread goin. And remember, this is all just for fun.money comes and goes.Good luck

to all that grow!

Looks good so far. Some of those lamps on ebay aren't bad. Some of the better ones, their biggest problems are noisy fans, so for the money saved why not? I refuse to pay full price on LEDs and if you're ever looking for good lamps at a great price, send an email to Area51 and see if they have anything in the back on sale. Good luck!

Subbed! I love people who think outside the box. I'm bettin this works out pretty damn good.

Then a total light noob, I bought a ufo 90 3+ years ago ($360- gulp!) Once I learned to add supplemental cfls (now household leds) it worked fine for personal use, and continues to work, and will for many years to come.

Once you know your light's spectral limitations (as it relates to what strain you are growing) you can inexpensively compensate with a ratio of NW + WW.

Thanks guys for subbing.glad to see this thread is starting off well.I really only wanted to do this grow journal to A.see for myself what leds(cheap ones in specific)could do in a grow room.and B.to help out all the ppl out there who are just like me in wondering if these cheap leds can do anything.Because as far as I know there is no real grow reviews with these types of lights. So this ones for all the newb growers on a budget.lol.
Anywho, back to the grow.Got some more transplanted today, will finish tomorrow after work.Def gonna l.s.t. them for greater canopy coverage.supercropped 2 of them earlier on and oh how it works wonders i think.got hooked on it a few seasons ago with some outdoor.really good for longer grows.but yeah.thats it for now.will get more pics up when there is some significant change or whatnot.starting flower this next week.and then the real fun begins.Muahahaha.PE@CE!

Subbed. I picked up a 300W panel off of amazon for about $250.00 and its working really well for my plants so I don't know if you are generally always going to get shitty results from not going with name brand panel. Chances are the LEDs are probably decent and they might just not be driven as efficiently or as fully as they could be but you'll make up for that with the number you have. Hows the construction quality on the ufos? Is everything bolted and screwed tight or does there appear to be parts that are glued? Also if you don't mind me asking, whats the total cost for 10 ufos? I think that would help put things in perspective when the results come through. Good luck with this one, interested to see how it turns out :)

Subbed!

Sad that you had to include that first paragraph  Especially in this forum. Where any level grower, using any LED system. Should be getting nothing but acceptance and support. K, now back to the real world...lol

I am using 2 of these $90 UFO-type LEDs. I'm extremely interested in seeing what 10 of them can do :-D As blowincherrypie mentioned. Not all eBay LEDs are crap. I'm figuring you spent around $1K-1.5K on 10 of these. Not too bad for 900w of LED lighting. That can be split up in 90w units.

Good luck with the grow :weed:

^^^ Not exactly. Most led panels/ufos... the watts are extremely overstated. Maybe he has a meter to test but from another site, where such test are posted for many panels (cheap or not) there is as much as a 40% discrepancy in actual watts.

Most people shoot for $1/W, for decent quality. Good quality probably $2-3, and for TOL, the sky is the limit.

Well.I'm just sittin here tokin a lil afgan kush, watchin it snow its balls off!I already have 6 inches and its supposed to snow all freagin day.At least its my day off.lol.Anywho,lets talk about these lights for a sec.I bought them off ebay for 103 dollar a pop.not to bad.All their info seemed semi legit.90w(45x3w)each led being ran at 2w to conserve lifespan. It has red, blue, orange and white led's.They have 3 built in cpu fans for heat dissipation. They have zener diodes if I spelled that correctly.detachable power cord.Overall I think the construction is pretty decent for what I paid.Black casing. They honestly look higher quality than the prosource led ufo's imo.So far they are growing very nice plants. But it will be the flowering that tells the final tale on this one.Speaking of which,I should be switching to 12/12 some time in the next week.I just supercropped and l.s.t'd them all,so I want to let it heal a little bit. Will take some pix here in a little while.PE@CE!

$103 a pop sounds decent. Very close to what mine run. Same 3w x 45 not driven @ the full 3 watts. Only one large fan each. And very well made. From what I could see and your explanation. Yours look and sound like they are also well made. But as you wrote "it will be the flowering that tells the final tale on this one" Abso-friggin-lutely! Let's see how much penetration they give? And if they yield popcorn or nice tight nugs? :bigjoint: I am, oh so, hoping for the later.....LOL :eyesmoke:

It says "invalid attachment specified" when I click on the links. :?

Do you have a link to the seller/model/etc for the lights you got? I'm shopping for two 90w UFOs and it's really hard to figure out what's junk or not just by looking at the ads.

It doesn't matter now (for me) since I just picked up a used Procyon 100, but I'm still interested in how the grow under LEDs goes. :D

how much did you spend total on those lights? the good part about having individual lights is that you can aim and spotlight in any direction so low branches can get full light also
