you'll know what I'm talking about soon enough.. your plant will swell abit more.. ( calyxes will grow more)
use charface's pic as a reference..
And hit google and look for examples of swollen calyx,
Its hard to describe but if you pay attention you will no doubt see it happening.

This is why i try to get to people to look at overall ripeness.
All kinds of shit can screw up trichs and hair.

The plant plumps then I start worrying about the finer points.

I googled it and understand what you mean, mine definitely doesn't look ready!
It's confusing cause looking at the trichomes on the leaves next to the bud, they're cloudy and amber, but looking at the overall plant it doesn't look ready. It really is a feel it as you go thing in the beginning.

Can you be my go-to mentor?? Hahaha.

Yep, run the same strain a few times and you will breeze through it.

I suggest you do that anyway if possible, you can see how different techs work.

I have grown some and swore it was shit. Next round it was great.
You have to get base then go nuts.

Yeah I ordered a bag of Cannatonic and a bag of Harlequin seeds, and so far have only had luck with the first two seeds. So either I'm doing something wrong or the seeds aren't good. Either way, I bought a better seedling start up and I'm gonna try again.

Find one you like and clone it.
Either way its all practice

I used a date calculator and apparently it's been 8 weeks, 2 days as of yesterday, not 9 weeks, 1 day? Could help explain why she isn't ready.

Not sure if it has been covered here but if you are counting from the day you flip add two to three weeks to what the seed bank says and it should be in the ballpark.

Still don't use the date to harvest
Just to get an idea of what to expect.

You will have to use your senses

Not a hard fast rule but pretty accurate ime

That actually makes a lot of sense!

9 weeks today (63 days) and SUPER sticky! Glad I didn't harvest her last week, she's still got white hairs.

You could harvest next week, or stick it out for another two or maybe even three, It's all about preference.

Some strains I like to harvest a bit on the early side cause if they go to long some of the smells develop into a poopy shitty smell lol, and the high gets different, more potent but almost less desirable to me. Other strains won't get any smell or trichs till later on its all in the genetics.

Once on lockdown YOU will know when YOUR weed is done to YOUR liking. It's not always about looks either you will get other signs.

She has such a strong smell! I hope it doesn’t get stronger Yeah I think I’m gonna go a couple more days, try a “stress” maneuver to see if it does what some people say it does in the plants final days.
I’m gonna let Cannatonic (she’s at 7 weeks) go longer than this one and see the difference.

Some people don't like this but I sometimes crop half the plant and run the other half longer then compare taste and high, mostly if I'm going to keep the strain.

I have one that I believe needs chopped at 45 days, if it goes longer it gets a funky shitty smell and the high gives me weird feelings of nausea, never seems to get bigger after that either.

When cut at day 45 it's very potent and smells like bubblegum.

That’s very interesting!
Will it not cause harm to clip a branch off and leave the rest?
