A 5v fan and a 5v battery?

whats good?
so i have this old cooling system for my xbox and i took the fan out of it and its a 5v.
if i cut and stripped the wire and hook it up to a 5v battery would that work? and how long would it last?

either way it;'ll be a pain in the arse, not cheap and not sustainable.

Get one of those multi volt wall warts (power supply) from wall mart. They have a switch to adjust from 3-12 volts. 4.5-6V is close enough for that fan. Then you don't need to worry about batteries.

it plugs into a usb port though...wouldnt that mean id have to buy a usb port adapter too? like for an iphone
