A/C Q

So I've moved to a hotter climate - and have a question about cooling my grow room.

I will be buying new equiment - I plan on using a tent. I'm also going to use air cooled hoods. The room the tent will be in has forced central AC. I now live in So.Cal, so it's HOT.

Can I set up a carbon filter to my hoods, to vent out of the tent and out thru the wall, to outside?
Should I blow from inside or suck from outside the tent (I guess if I blow from inside I won't be able to hook up a carbon filter this way)

I'm thinking/hoping that this will take the heat away from my lamps and tent in general, and the negative presure will suck cooled air into the tent from the air conditioned room

Do you guys think this will work?
Or should I try and duct from my AC vent directly into the tent?
Or any other ideas???

Thanks

From an efficiency standpoint, sucking all the conditioned air out of your room and blowing it outside would make it very difficult for your air conditioner to keep up, there's also the possibility of backdrafting your living area as well. Recirculating the air through your house would be a lot less heat load on your ac equipment. Sounds scary to many, but if it's set up properly it can be very effective.

What size tent, what size light in it, what size room, what size ac, and what size house?

I'm still in the planning phase, I'm thinking a 8-10ft tent - so maybe up to 4x600w. My house is small currently 600sqft, but looking to convert the attached garage to living space - which would increase it to about 900sqft. The room the tent will be in will be made by putting up a partition wall, so it could be whatever size I like really. I guess I could just build a grow room and do away with the tent. The current AC unit is a Trane XB10.

Sorry for my vagueness - I'm just trying to figure it all out...

For using a tent I would try to make it a sealed system in order to maximize the effectiveness of supplemental CO2. Try a Climate Right 2500 or Climate Right 5000 (2,500 Btuh and 5,000 Btuh cooling capacity respectively). If you're going to do an 8 to 10 ft tent and run 2,400W in it, you would need two Climate Right 5000's. The great thing about these units is that they are sealed and sit outside of you growing area. Since its sealed you can use your carbon filter and recirculate the air within your tent. If you use CO2 it will stay contained within the sealed system!
