A Journal While Building A Grow Room For Aeroponics

Holy shit man. Welcome to the forum. Its a good thing you made it in here to help all of us dumbasses out with your grow journal, especially since you have been studying and know everything you need to do. $1400.00 is a good starting point for a few lights. Hope you have enough power for this huge space. 270 cubic feet won't translate into 270 square feet of growing space though.
After leaving a couple of feet to walk around inside your grow area you will have about the same space left I have in my vegging area. I wonder how long Cervantes studied before he wrote his books.

That ignore list just keeps getting longer.....I was really trying to help you out son, and you are not the first, nor will you be the last. Read your first post Mr. Scientest. You come busting into the room and basically tell us all we are in for a real treat because you decided to grace us with your presence. Then you throw money in everyones face, especially the newbies you are going to try and save.
And with all that expertise you don't even know how to figure square footage. I bet all of your friends, both of them, can't wait for you to get in the room, so you can start the meeting. While I can applaud your effort, this will take a lot of time, you won't make many friends unless you learn to chill a little.
I've got an idea. Why don't you do a poll, about my smartass answer. Ask only the newbies to vote. Get thier opinion. Go ahead, ask them if smacking you down was the right thing to do. But that doesn't mean I don't like ya...yet.VV
PS. you did notice I said welcome first didn't you?

Although I'm not as bold to call Mr. Scientist out on any specifics, I would have to politely agree with Victor on this one, seems like Mr. Scientist IS an educated man, otherwise he wouldn't have the confidence to sound the way he does, HOWEVER; this is an ONLINE forum, and there are no prizes to be won for the most educated and/or egotistical.

Just seems like you are wording your sentences wrong, perhaps thats not even the way you'd like to come across, but it certainly is the way your posts are reading...

Check your ego at the door and all will be well. I am very interested in seeing how your project plays out and seeing what you use, regardless of cost. I think its a great idea, but you may offend some veterans of the forum with the way your going about it...

Also, the thing that really gets me is: You cannot tell people to not post here simply because they have a system built already, you cannot try to be the moderator and control the forums just by telling those that comment to not comment anymore? Why would you even want to do this? If your motive is to learn, then one would think ALL information would be helpful. Cmon man, you don't run the show. In fact, you don't run anything, not even a grow room (yet). So until you can have the little moderator tag under your name, dont try to restrict comments....

Like VV said, you won't make friends fast this way....were an open minded community, and so far it seems your anything but.

Only trying to help,
Good luck, and I will be checking back :D

Victor,

Why do you feel the need to jump all over this guy just because he starts a thread that he is clearly excited about. He's not claiming to know more than the seasoned grower. He just states that he is has been reading up on it for a while and is ready to get something in the works and wants other newbies to maybe learn from his journey. Confidence is a good thing.
We all know that learning from reading and learning from doing are entirely different; and I'm willing to bet that Homescientist will eventually be needing the help of some of you experienced growers. That will undoubtedly put things in perspective for him, if he really is overconfident right now.

It seems like you feel the need to just put people in there place and let them know that they don't know shit compared to you because they don't have the experience. Also, try not to feel so threatened by people who are willing and able to spend a little bit of money into their new found hobby.

As soon as I read this post by you, I immediately remembered another similar circumstance where you went off on somebody for the same reason, just because he came on and was very excited about showing off his new project and was willing to drop some cash to do things right (cash isn't the only way though).
see for yourself: https://www.rollitup.org/hydroponics-aeroponics/5867-newb-growing-gold-2.html

Your reaction to both these posts seemed totally unnecessary. The 'experts' on this site are obvious by the constant help they give newbies, not by putting people down and discouraging them to post their journals and comments. In due time homescientist will realize that he has a lot to learn and people like you will be able to guide him. That will put him in his place if he needs it.

Thanx guys. I still don't consider myself an expert. And I did say welcome to the forum first. Both times, and at least a few others, I can think of, I used sarcasm. Thats' the way my sense of humor works, Some may not like it and I understand that.
Let me ask you a question? How many of you would have replied to HomeScientist at all if I hadn't jumped in? I'm almost positive he knows how to figure square feet and is obviously excited to get strarted and thats why he made this simple mistake. Soo...I thought I might help him out. Heymo. VV
