A musicians worst nightmare.

Getting ready to do a gig.

Bandmates decide to go blaze in the parking lot.

Get busted, go to jail. One guy left who was finishing setting up the gear.

5 min, to show time.
I'm so surprised that this hasn't happened to us yet. I get blazed in my car right before I go in to set up, and my pianist gets blazed and drunk in his car while reading philosophy (love this guy). Over 300 gigs together and no incidents. Not sure if a cop would even want to bust us, their buddies at the station would never stop ragging on them having brought in classical musicians. "Great job, Chuck! We can all sleep a little easier knowing these motherfuckers aren't out there terrorizing folks playing Mozart and Debussy this weekend..."

this isn't a true story (as far as I know)

but I'm a bass player. Not really a solo instrument.
Stanley Clark would dissagree about the bass not being a solo instrument , baddest bass player alive & i was fortunate to see him do a 35 minute solo set while he was playing alongside Al Dimeola in Return to Forever .

The story about the kid is true & here's the proof , here he is playing Frank Zappas Rat Tomago with ZPZ , its a complicated song & the kid nailed it , ive been playing 40 yrs & this kid is better than me .

Tell me this kid isnt good as hell , i know Rat Tomago & he didnt miss a note .

Here he is opening for Steve Vai using the board to pull out Via's guitar & shred in Via's place .

Btw , if your guitar player is looking for a top of the line head ive got a clean ass Marshall 9200 dual Monoblock tube amp for sale , i replaced it with a pair of Mcintosh 300 watt tube amps powering 2 cabs with 8 Mcintosh 12's in them , amp is clean & has a new set of Groove Tubes with less than 10 hours play on them , best amp ive ever used till i got the Mcintosh monoblocks .

Really? Maybe bass played with a pick. Walk that bitch up and down the frets son.

Weather Report was the shit & so was Jaco, ive got every one of their albums & seen em twice , here's Jaco's protege Pete Griffin playing Pound For a Brown , from what ive read Jaco mentored him extremely hard .

Plus there's like only four strings, too. Way easy!
Shit unless were talking about a classic Rickenbacker 4000 series most 4 string bass's are too limited to get serious with your phrasing , you can get 6 & 8 string bass's that are much more musical , still theres something about the sound from the old Rickenbackers with no pedals thats hard to match , just cant hit as many notes .
