Hiyo Everyone!

Foreword:
I've been lurking around RIU for well over a year now. My passion for growing has taken me through countless threads and I feel extremely fortunate to have gained so much wisdom from many of the members here. I would never have gotten this far if not for the community here. Thank you all RIU members

This will be my first grow journal and I will attempt to be as thorough as possible. The intent here is to continue relying on extensive knowledge and resources available through RIU, as well as impart some of my own. Sharing is caring!

Journal:
156 clones were taken from a strong, vigorous and most importantly, female PowerPlant mother, 7months old. Clones were dipped in Clonex rooting quickly placed inside rapid rooter plugs. Plugs were then dipped in a light Roots Excelurator + Aquashield solution, ph adjusted to 5.8 and placed under propagation domes with hoods and heating mat set to 80*F.

After 12 days 152 clones showed healthy white roots. 140 of the best rooted clones were then transplanted into 3"in rockwool cubes. The rockwool cubes were left soaking overnight in a light (250ppm on .5 scale) solution of Grow + Pro-TeKt + Roots Excelurator, ph adjusted to 5.5. Foliar sprayed a very light solution of Seaweed extract + Coco-wet the same day of transplanting. All 140 clones vegged for 10 days under HO T5's (6500K) at which point healthy roots were bursting out from under the cubes.

Coco chips blocks were expanded in water and light nutrients were added, 1/3 Grow + 2/3 Bloom + Aquashield (300ppm on .5 scale) ph adjusted to 5.5 and used as medium to fill square plastic pots. This was left soaking overnight with air bubbler placed in the tub to aerate the medium and remove any chlorine from the water. I do NOT use RO water as I see this unescessary with my 105ppm water (.5 scale).

Exactly 22 days from taking clones, I again transplanted 136 of the best rooted and healthiest plants into their flowering tray. Since each pot is 5.5" x 5.5", I have approx 4 plants per sq foot. I then filled 1/3 of the pot with the soaked coco, gently placed the 3" rockwool cube containing clone, and filled in the sides with more of the prepped coco. I then covered the top 1/5 of the pot with Hydroton clay pebbles to help retain moisture. The average height per plant at this stage was 5 inches +/-1in.

Here's the unboxing of the GrowStealthLED GS600 Pro-Bloom model. Since each panel draws approximately 480-490Watts at 70*F ambient temperature. This entire grow will consist of approximately 980Watts of LED (TRUE WATTS not advertised).

Albacore's cloning for success 101
  1. Take more clones than what you need. This could be from 1 large mom or several indentical moms
  2. Root these clones in some inexpensive medium FIRST (this way you can toss out your mistakes)
  3. Continue cloning with the *best* rooted clones and discard the rest.

My technique is to take 156 clones in Rapid Rooters --> 140 of those into 3" rockwool --> 136 of those finally make it to flowering. This means I typically throw out 20 plants and waste 16 little rapid rooter plugs and 4 rockwool cubes. A small price to pay to ensure only the BEST 136 plants make it to the flowering tray.

Day 1 of flowering. Some of the pots towards the bottom are ones I am experimenting with. I set aside 3 pots (of same clones) to try different techniques and see how that impacts yield.

Day 15 of flowering. The plants LOVE this LED and have been growing well.

IMG_2636.jpgIMG_2640.jpgIMG_2641.jpg
Day 15 of flowering (continued) You can see they are at an average of 8 inches and already flowering. White little hairs are emerging and the internode spacing appears to be ideal. These single colas should turn out nicely!

Oh btw, this is my first grow ever. Comments are appreciated since I'm still very new at all this. Nothing trumps experience in my opinion but having a theoretical working knowledge, determination and scientific mindset can, if nothing else help me do this well.

Day 30 of flowering:

The plants are doing well and the aromas eminating from them are becoming stronger and stronger. The bottom fan leaves have started yellowing which seems to indicate a Nitrogen deficiency. Also, I have increased the room temperature to 84F and they seem to be much happier than at 75F. They are being cooled by a ChillKing 2HP water chiller connected to a copper/aluminum 20"x20" radiator (heat exchange) with a large fan attatched to the back of it (I can post more pics on this if anyone is interested). This allows me to keep the room at whatever temperature I desire and is very efficient with a 100gal coolant reservoir.

This thread looks dead but if you are still there Albacore. How many grams per plant did you get?
