Aero or Nft?

Im trying to figure out the most effecient way to grow say 12-24 plants. I see people bragging about their aero setups. What do you gain from aero in blooming phase when ur roots fill the gutter. Why not just use Nft. Does the aero system speed up the veg cycle?

Aero/NFT gives you the best of both worlds.

The sprayers aerate the water as it sprays out so you do have a small advantage there. But the trough fills with water right away so the benefit is minimal.

I think having a cycle timer is the most important aspect of my Aero/NFT system. Allowing 5 minutes of dry time really allows maximum oxygen to the root system. One minute on time gives all the water/nutes needed.

It's weird that the roots systems don't get very big in my system compared to the root balls I used to pull using soil. It's like they only need 25% of the roots to get the same amount of nutes, water and O2. All the growth is put into the plant instead of the roots.

I'm able to run 2900 PPM during the initial stretch without burning. I only bring my PPM down to 2000 a week before my flush.

Hey thanks for the replies... YO STINKBUD... I have read about ur system quite a bit. I am currently adopted ur nutes. I see why you dont use the grow too.. That cal/mag has enough to cover it...RIGHT?... I have 2 more questions for ya.. Why use the EZclone sprayers all the way through?... You think you would get more air from using sprayers all the way through as opposed to doing aero for veg and nft for blooms...I understand what ur saying about the cycle timer.. i do.. but would flowing water achieve higher volumes of oxygen? Ur tha shyt man... O yea i was gonna do sweet dreams in this set up... Supposed to do yeild best in hydrogarden... Any experience with that strain... Any recomendation?...PeAcE

Cal/Mag helps but it's the combination of everything that works.

I would run Aero/NFT if I could transfer the plants from veg to flower. But the roots all grow together. The containers work well for keeping the roots separate for later transfer to the flower room. The container system would work for the complete cycle though if I wanted.

Sorry can't help you with the sweet dreams.

As far as strains go you can't beat AK47. Great balanced high and fantastic yield. The most awarded strain known and 21% THC! 50/50 indica/sativa finishes in 8-9 weeks which is unreal considering the amount of Sativa genetics.

Blueberry is the best tasting IMHO. 80/20 indica/sativa a little more indica high. Shitty yield but the taste makes up for it. I bust this out when I want to return to the 80's. This is a classic strain that everyone should have in their quiver. Everyone will make fun of your shitty little plant, then smoke some and shut the fuck up real quick!
