Aero: Pump Requirement- help!

Need help with pump pressure for an aeroponic set up. Would like to know what size of pump is required for 100 feet (ten 10 foot sections) of 1/2 inch tubing with 200 misters (360 degree misters) on 1/4 inch tube which are 10 inches long. Found out the hard way, a 2000gph pump is no where near sufficient. What am I missing here? Anyone with any advice/details would be very much appreciated!

I don't know the answer, but I'd say a 2000gph pump is a fire hydrant.

if you used a 2000gph pump your house would explode! i think anything over 500gph would be fine...i think it would depend mostly on the size of your rez

well it is a 2000gph pump and it wont push the misters i got it from canadian tire and thought the same thing that it should work great but for some reason i get no pressure. Unless the pump is faulty? There may not be enough psi on the pump maybe. The outtake on the pump is an inch and a half that i have reduced to half inch tubing if that is a prob not sure.

The pump you show there is a sump pump.They dont have must pressure its more volume.A swiming pool pump or a well pump with the footage you want to run.You have to pipe it with a bigger size pipe to a tee then reduce from the tee to the 10' long mister lines.I think a 1/2 horse pump will be all you need.But thats a larger sytem.Peace

ok i figured it must be a pressure problem do you have any recomendation on a pump with enough pressure to do what i need and i may decide to double up the whole system so overkill is what i need.

well i solved the problem thanks crazytoke for the input. Solution was a jet pump from leader pumps. The eco jet 1hp pump, it has more than enough pressure for what i need and will be able to turn my 200 misters into 400 when i am ready to go there.

Careful... you dont want to pressure wash your roots.

You can put a cock-valve in the line to control it.Or buy a inline regulator to control the pressure.Whats the pressure of this jet pump? Peace
